The doorbell just went forcing me to get dressed and get
up. I went and it was Jehovahs. To be fair he didn't try to
bore me he just left a tract with me. I am currently looking
for bible quotes that disprove their theology. I'm going to
prepare myself for when they come back....

There's stuff on the site www.religioustolerance.org and
also
www.chick.com

When I find some bible ref.s I'll put them up. Even if
you're not a Christian, you can use them to prove how the
Jehovah's theology is self contradicting.

Well, my neighbour is this gypsy Jehova's witness and his
such a funny person that I always take all these brochures
and leaflets from him... Anyway, they apparently claim that
a lot of misconceptions on christianity come from
inappropriate translation of Bible (like, they claim that
the word that was translated as "cross" just ment stake,
that Jesus was not crucified but nailed to this stake and so
on). Anyway, fuck them and the rest of christians...

And the rest of religions. And atheists too. That should
have covered about everything.

I always say: not interested, then they go away. There's no
point in argueing, they're fanatics. They're looking for a
discussion and if you fall for it, they'll come back more
often. Think about it. Don't even accept any of their
propaganda. Make them feel that what they're doing is
useless.

Uh the one I am talking about has some kind of speaking
disability and is on top of it drunk most of time (or looks
drunk...) so he's really completely beyond arguing.. I like
him somehow...

I've never had any. My Mum invited them in once because she
was bored I think. They kept coming back.

If I get any I'll invite them in and talk Marxist dogma at
them until they leave.

That'll be a showdown. However, jonesy, they'll claim that
their truth comes directly from god (a serious source, we'll
all agree) and where does yours?

Ugh, there's no need to be rude. I'm just saying that when
they claim they have this source of absolute truth, what are
you left with? Providing that you are aware that you can not
prove to them that god does not exist.

Sorry. My truth comes from the material world around me. I
know you can always question knowledge but you've got to
start somewhere. I like to start by rejecting superstition.
I don't believe in God, Jesus, Father Xmas, the Easter
Rabbit or the Tooth Fairy. Though the bogeyman does exist.

Uhm. So, you are sure of certain things being absolutely
true, without having an absolute authority to confirm it?

I believe whatever makes sense, is logical and is based on
evidence. There is no absolute truth or authority but you
can't keep on questioning otherwise you'd never be able to
assert anything.

of those things you yourself consider unqestionable, is all
I got to say.

There's a phone-in on the radio about creation theory. All
these muppets are phoning in saying that evolutionary theory
is ridiculous as opposed, of course, to the totally logical
Genesis account of the world's creation. Hmmm

Well, when you look at it, it's not so different. I mean,
these religious dudes claim to have been having the actual
truth for the last 2000 years. Whereas science always claims
it has just found the truth out. No real difference.

1. click on Edit your account
2. type your password in (but don't press enter)
3. click browse, next to this slot for picture.
4. pick a picture from your computer (or web)
5. click done

Firstly have you got a picture of yourself ready? I.E. a
scanned image or a picture of yourself of the web? Make sur
eit's not bigger than 100kb.

If so, go to "edit your account" in the "Nice to see you
Jonesy." Box in the top left corner.

Click the "browse" button to the right of "Upload a picture
(GIF or JPG, max size: 100 kbyte"

Select the file you want as your picture from the window
that pops up..

Then enter your password in your user details (you need to
do this to alter your account) then press "Done" at the
bottom of the screen.

Hopefully your pic should now work.

We had a discussion in my house just now about this and it
seems the main reason people hate "Christians" is that
Jehovahs and Mormons knock on their door all the time and
piss them off. They are NOT christians. They have fucked up
beliefs. Ignore them.

I think I'll stick with this pic. At least for the time
being. I love bondage.

Well, saying that all religion is for people with a lack of
brain and hope is a little harsh I'd say. I used to think so
too, but not all religions are like christianity. And not
all christians are the same as Ceri said... I can not follow
any religion but I can not follow this materialist atheism
either. I need to continue questioning, not subscribe to
answers.

I Now that there are many christians who are just regular

girlfriend wich had a christian mom and when I went into
there hous and didnt take off my hat she said to her
doughter - You new boyfriend doesnt have christian parents I
see.
- Well he cant come with us to church tomorow thats for
sure.
- no he needs a little disipline.

They said that while i where in the bathroom and they didnt
think I heard them.. Thats fucktup Right?

hmm I know its good for peoples to belive. But the fanatic
part is truly sick.
So are all other religions to.
As we all know the bible people read today isnt the same as
the firts version of the bible.
So the humans has been making changes for their own
comfortability.
By the way did you know that the earlier versions of the
bible is about 10times more violent that the

korahn(spells?) = I think it's Qu'ran
but there are a couple of acceptable spellings.

I just found out that many religious scholars think that the
Jehovah's version of the bible intentionally mis-interprets
the original hebrewic texts so it fits more with their
beliefs as awt said.

I think the people like your ex's mum really paint a ba d
picture. There was this guy who stopped me at a train
station and asked if I'd go to his church, I went once and
was appalled, they were Jehovahs and were all wearing really
smart suits. Although they seemed friendly enough they were
giving me funny looks because I was wearing a t-shirt, jeans
and a leather jacket. I don't recall Jesus ever being
described as a "snappy dresser"...
