I'll tell you a true classic. Road- Fucking -House. Patrick
Swayze's crowning moment. Every inch of this film is a
masterpiece. Every line a memorbale qoute. It is stated to
be a Drama, but everyone knows its truly a comedy. With this
I say to you all, I used to fuck guys like all of you in
prison!

it's truly amazing. this movie is the summation of
everything that is fucking awesome about the 80s, just
about. a testament. glorious stuff.

I dunno, if you want THE definitive 80s movie then Commando
is hard to beat. Every scene is a stone cold classic.

Why Commando is the single greatest film ever made

...The ludicrous notion that Swayze could ever, in any way
shape or form, be a "Hardman".
...Swayze's character's badass old mentor.
...The naffness of the club he protects.

So many classic aspects.

Hmm, I dunno if Roadhouse or Commando are the best though. I
think The Hitcher is a contender too.

when Arnold throws Cooke through the wall onto a couple
who somehow kept having sex despite the four gunshots in the
next room, Rae Dawn observes, "These guys eat too much red
meat." Again, exactly right. Also of note is when the naked
couple emerges from underneath the covers, the woman is
behind the man. Yeah, buddy!

Haha!

I watched "Cobra" the other day and so intensely 80s was it
that time actually vomitted me back 20 years. I'm writing
this on my Spectrum.

Road house transcends decades. Its ageless. Mullets are
still in style where this film was depicted, I gather. The
quintessential 80's teen male film for me would have been
Rambo probably. Or predator.

this thread in summary, in my opinion
Cobra is an 80s film which is not as good as First Blood
which is not as good as Road House which is not as good as
Predator which is not as good as Hitcher which is not as
good as Commando which is not as good as Die Hard which is
not as good as Playing For Keeps

Any 80s film starring Kurt Russell is a classic.

I'd never heard of that before, but based on the following
list of characters, I think I may have to check it out:

Van Go-Go
Sam, the Luncheonette Owner
Dancer (Silk's Fantasy)
Dancer (Spikes' Fantasy)
Mint Buyer, 'No Cash'
Lady who Finds Cheap Steaks
Kidnapped Priest
78 Pound Lady

I've said it before and i'll say it again.

The Running Man
Captain Dynamo

"I'll show you dickless!"

Absolutely incredible delivery and undoubtably the best
one-liner ever to grace the silver screen. Respect to the
Dynamo.
