It's easy for us to talk about what would be a perfect solution, but there's really no perfect solution. The people who are in a position to decide what's going to happen to someone like Saddam have it tough because what do you do? But personally I have no qualms about the death penalty if the guy in question can be found guilty without a shadow of a doubt, and I think that's the case here. Everyone knows he did bad things and killed a lot of Iraqi people, so I think he deserved to die for that. Also, I think if they just stuck him in jail for the rest of his life Iraq would never be able to relax. I think a lot of people in Iraq would remain afraid that he'd somehow get out and take over again. At least now they can be sure that that part of their history is over, and they can look to the future. There are never perfect solutions to things like this. I don't necessarily agree with everything about the Iraq war, and a lot I disagree with as do many people. But I did think that Saddam needed to be removed, and that wasn't going to happen by talking. Some times you need to use force. Just my opinion of course! :) |
