My friend and I, about... well a few months ago came up
with this idea named "Dark Rave" where its a huge warehouse
or some such place, all done up - ofcourse were going to
need tons of cash to do this..... but its something to try
for anyways...

And what wed do is set up the most hardcore, intense visual
show, moving visuals, screens, hollograms, lights.... all
the works that will blow your mind. It will be DARK techno,
all of it...... some industrial thrown in there as well
maybe.

The scene will grow, people will dress like cyber punks,
industrial clothes, dark..... not goth at all, NO. Dont
confuse it with goth or metal. Its not. Its totally new.

Dark Rave.....

Umm... Id don't mean to burst your bubble but there is
alread a "dark rave" exactly as you've described in
existance (it's even called "dark rave". Here's a list of
the next event coming up in a couple weeks (there have
already been about 25 of 'em though)

"DARK RAVE v.26"
hard techno, trance, industrial and more in the main room,
plus an EBM sideroom

TrevorGod have you been to one? Sounds good. I don't know of
any regular clubs that do stuff like that. I'd be up for it
if there was one in the UK.

I went to one about 2 years ago and it was really, really
good. A nice dark atmosphere but still a good sense of
community. I haven't been to one lately because I'm
boycotting anything that uses' the term 'rave'. I don't
know why it just pisses me off to hear it. Raves died years
ago now they are just themed club nights trying to get idy
credit so they can pull in more $.

i think it would be cool if you had raves...
that were completely dark...no lights or anything...or maybe
just one strobe light...and a lot of fog
and they played really brutal music...with really deep bass
that made people barf...and have people dressed up in funny
suits...like as big bird and teddy bears or something...and
run through the crowd beating people up..
a night of fun and confusion will be had by all...im not
sure what i would call this 'scene' ...but it should be
something misleading...so people would go not knowing what
theyre getting into... any suggestions?

Merry Pranksters?

ie. -"hey Bobby, let's go to the Merry Prankster down at the
Sand Bar."
- "O.K. sounds good. 'supposed to be a wild party"

Then chaos and mayhem ensues >:|

At my local club (metroes) the DJ used to play Smack my
Bitch Up and Poison with the lights off completely and just
used to used a red fast strobe on the really intense bits.
Because the club is underground (literally) and has no
windows you could just make out movement, but not shapes. It
was brilliant. I imagine if there was continual darkness
you'd have problems with mugging/sexual abuse.
