What did MIDI do to music makers

Is it true, that todays club music sounds like it sounds
because of the Midi interface?

Hmmm, not really. Todays club music sounds like it sounds
because of shit northern European producers (I'm not being
racist, I know a few VERY VERY good producers from that
area, Impakt being one of them) who look for female
vocalists to "sing" over their shitty unison-sawtooth leads
and synth bass sounds.

1. Get a real bass.
2. Get some better vocals.
3. Learn how to program your synth.
4. Learn how to play your synth (yes, I guess MIDI does play
a part, but it's not the biggest thing in the problem)

It's just for Christmas, I couldn't drink sherry all year
round.

Mind you, I could quite happily punch your avatar in its
little space invader cock.

if you are saying the the music's out put is influenced by
the means that it is produced, in this case with MIDI, then
yes i would have to agree. before MIDI arrangement you had
to PLAY your music - not just map it out with a mouse or
over dub with a MIDI trigger.

No, todays club music sounds the way it does because that is
what people like to dance to and buy. MIDI's got fuck all
to do with it. This topic is bollocks.

You don't really have to "program" midi with your mouse.
Most sequencers (hardware at least) just records your
playing and let's you quantize and edit it later on, which
rocks.

I'm really more into the music than some wanker "performing"
so, if technology goes some way to cutting out the ego, I'm
all for it.
