Bleh. Its not hard to look at the site that was posted and
go find out for yourself. And think to yourself...would a
piece of software like Reason be free?

Looks very yummy - still no full vst support :(

But yeah .. have played around with the reason 1.1 demo a
fair bit - shame about the 20minute limit .. and yeah ..
whoever suggested routing the Redrum via the synths !! too
true .. some wonderful results .. !!

should really make it vst compatible .. it seems stupid for
them to try and patch up the sequencer component if there
are already established ones out there (oh .. is
proppellerheads still owned by steinberg!! --)

I just had my first go at a fully cracked version of 1.0
today, and had a jolly time at it. Appearantly, you can use
reason as a VST type instrument in cubase, along with your
other VST's. So even tho it doesn't have support... its
compatible.

Where can I get that fucking reason crack. You know, the one
that makes reason not asking for CD 2 anymore. I've searched
all over Kazaa and all those cracks are wrong or contain a
virus

Suggestions??????

Korben Dallas: That's a very good point, Reason should be a
VST host and external device sequencer. Otherwise it's
beaten by the competition.

Taxidermist: That's almost true, Reason can be "Rewire"d
through Cubase VST. Which basicly means it is synced and the
outputs are routed to Cubase's mixer.

To run the cracked Reason: You only need the +/- 17 MB rip
from the first CD. From the second CD you need the big
"Factory Sound Bank.rfl" file. Burn that to a CD labeled
"SOUNDCD" and let it be copied to your harddisk during
installation. There are keygenerators for the password and
there's a timelimit crack for the demo. But you need the
"Factory Sound Bank.rfl" file to run it properly.

a VST type of unit would be nice, but theyd have rewrite the
reason audio engine, because it would have to be vst based.
they could do that, but then it would slow everthing up.
Most of the people who use vst use it just for fun, and
often on low powered machines. i think they are aiming at a
different market.

I love reason in spite of its negative points, i can do
stuff with it in miutes that used to take hours before. My
previous setup was an atari computer, 2 MS-20s, 2 VCS3s, arp
2600 with cv sequencer kenton midi-cv and various roland
synths, drum machines and an Emulator I.

you might scoff, but i prefer using reason to all that gear

Lucy

so d'you see a difference ? i just use VST for effect
routing in real time. Cubase is good for bouncing, cuz you
can make it offline.

"That's almost true, Reason can be "Rewire"d

You can actually record the Reason instruments MIDI data
directly into the Cubase arrange page, so it really is
exactly like a VSTi.

You mean you can sequence Reason stuff with Cubase? Cool,
I've never tried that before... I'm going to check that out.
Thanks.

Just assign a midi track in cubase to a Reason instrument
and plug the reason midi cable into the same instrument from
within reason, then go abck to cubase, hit record...and all
your midi data shows up in cubase playing the reason
instrument. You dont even need the reason sequencer.

The conclusion, my friendly tweaks, is inescapable. The
hardware sampler is not dead. The soft sampler has simply
taken away some of its more mundane uses, like making synth
noises, drums, hits and vocal stabs and all the other
"conventional" uses above. The soft sampler in essence has
"freed" the hardware sampler to take on more creative roles
allowing for what samplers do best, the creative
manipulation of sounds, sequences, effects, loops and whole
songs in a non-linear arrangement perspective.

May you keep your hardware hot, fired, and ready to take you
to new dimensions of musical thinking

sounds like a quote from someone who is bitter they paid
$2000 for an AKAI 3000. Check out Kyma, money far better
spent than on a hardware sampler.

for such programs, you'll need DSP cards and a mac, that
would be expensive...

i like my s2000 with 8 outputs, and he gives more cool
noises and filter effects than a software sampler. computers
are good for mastering...

This is the most retarded conversation ive ever had.
Hardware and software are both great, whatever you have and
you like, use it, all that matters is the music.

so true, i think, the best soultion is, to use both
elements, there are no rules. software things are very good
for be remtoing with a midi controller, i like to control
Virsyn over 24 potis, every effect and so on...
