im here to talk about autechre. theres a certain sound these two have, that theyve only used for a few songs. its a nice awesome synthy sound and i really enjoy it except theres just not enough of it.
since these certain songs only appear in random eps and such, i was wondering if you could give some recommendations of some other similiar autechre songs i may have missed, or better yet, some similiar artirts or songs.
the sound im talking about would be in songs like Weissensee Against Im Gluck, Viral Rival (Rmxed by Ae), ISS:SA, and perhaps Envane.. if you know what im talking about.

Hmmm. They use a few different kinds of synth sounds on all those songs. Is it their springy sound? Or their strings? The comby pad things? Or what.
Be more specific please.

yeah, its hard to be specific. perhaps im just picking out my favourite songs. but these songs always stook out compaired to the rest of their stuff.
its not the strings, or springy sound, i dont think. just a nice synthy sound you dont really hear in their other stuff (which i also love, its just this sound. i want more of).

Yeah, autechre kind of shy against using the traditional synthy sounds traditionally. Too bad too. Some of its really nice. Have you listened to incunabla or amber? Lots of synthier stuff there.

yeah amber is wicked. incunabla i havent gotten into yet.
i had a feeling this would be a tough point to make though, describing what im trying to describe. ive enjoyed these songs for so long and looked for this sound for so long, and only now have i made a post about it. perhaps someone will know what im crapping on about.

Personally, my favorite ae sound is how they use their strings. You can hear the automation on the attack and delay, and it just sounds beautifull. I have been listening to some of their peel session songs on my daily travels, and it seems to make everything better.

...the sound of autechre is just the one of the greatest band on earth.
yes, I am b o r e d of their retrigging/buffer override-fetish - but the beats, the melodies, the production, the awesomeness is above all! *sob*
(sickly sweet, indeed)
