I saw an interesting documentary on circumision. For some bizarre reason, the majority of American males are circumsised, even though the benefits of it pale in comparison to the negatives and, short of religious tradition, there's no point in it. They tried to find out why, but there was no real conclusion, other than that they "just do". |

I recently saw a documentary about africans getting aids, it went a bit like this (if I remember correctly...) 1. the catholic pastor tells everyone not to wear condoms 2. men go to prostitutes with HIV and get infected 3. the men die of aids which leaves their wives poor so they go into prostitution to earn some money, they in turn get HIV there and spread it....see point 2 and repeat in combination with point one 4. poor children without parents that died of aids or other things wander around on the streets and sniff glue to forget their miserable lives. While they are passed out they get raped and get infected with HIV. I see only 2 real solutions to the problem here: - catholics need to lighten up and allow the use of condoms - the poverty needs to decrease... |
