He just visited my town to buy a Christmas pudding from
Matthew Walkers Ltd, which is right next to my Dad's
workplace.

When he went past he looked at me and waved. I waved back.

Why has he travelled 150 miles to buy a Christmas pudding?

A lad I used to know quite well met him and was talking to
him for quite a while (several times over a few hours,
rather and a shake of the hand and that was it) and came to
the conclusion that he was indeed nice but dim. He reckoned
he was genuniely well-meaning man, even if his rather stuffy
background and lack of common sense (or indeed experience of
"the real world") made him a bit amusing.

it's a small world after all. we're all friend of a friend
who had a friend who met AND talked to charles.

my parents had met the dutch royals at a party of the former
mayor (who's an 'acquaintance') of the place where my
parents live. they've made some pictures too, but they had
to sign a contract to not release them.

so now you all can say you're a friend of a son whose
parents are 'acquainted' with a former mayor who's closely
befriended with the dutch royals.
that's either very special...or rather sarcastic. dunno. but
it's one of those true facts of live.

Did you get to shake your dad's hand afterwards, to obtain
some of the royal vibes?
