Casino Royale,

I have to say my only complaints with this Bond flick are
as follows:

----The song FUCKING sucked. as did the music video for
it...
----The B&W cinematography was magnificent but has no place
In this franchise.
----The dripping blood in the intro was CHEESY and ruined
the intro for me, entirely. They should have kept that part
of the Bond Intro format alone.

aside from that this Bond was fresh and clean. cool
villains, not all hollywood bullshit envolved and left you
with something much bigger than you thought it would halfway
into the movie.

Craig is a good Bond.

Good movie. It was a little too long, and I hated the gun
barrel. Everything else was awesome.

it sounds like your only complaints are with the intro part?

I enjoyed the 2&1HALF hr conclusion to that sad intro tho
;)
that's what counts.

ace! looks like i'll have to see this as soon as possible
then.

what still amazes me is that the intro didn't have the usual
contours of dancing naked women. it left me totally
flabbergasted. personally, i think it makes people think the
titletrack sucks. subconsciously. when in fact it doesn't
suck half as much. it's just pavlov doing it's magic.

offline Babaouo from Dolce (Monaco) on 2006-12-06 22:26 [#02013834]
Points: 787 Status: Regular

Dont let him fool you.

The title sequence really did suck. It was completely
unimaginative.
the graphics sucked so bad it looked as if it were a poorly
done N64 game intro at parts. really cheesy.

the rest of the movie is worth it!

offline goDel from ɐpʎǝx (Seychelles) on 2006-12-06 22:32 [#02013837]
Points: 10225 Status: Lurker

nice try, but this only proves you're being high on pavlov
yourself, of course. if the intro had its share of contour
everything would be fine.

seriously, i didn't mind the graphics though. and the
soundtrack, well, it's one of those instances you can learn
to appreciate ;)

I don't really care about the lack of naked women in the
intro mind you. I would have preffered to see naked women
but that isn't why I dislike the intro.

was just shittalking.

but still, you shouldn't underestimate the power of your

it all. those things work like nukes in your subconscious

Watch Casino Royale if you are a fan of the early bond

i didnt undestand why they had to play poker and win against
the baddie to bring him in, Q said they knew hes been
funding terrorists, so as soon as bond saw him he shud have
shot him

would have made the film last 30mins

Stop getting Bond wrong.... M, it was M who
said Le Chiffre was funding terrorisim. And they wanted him
alive so they could find out what he knows, what with all
his involvement with terrorists.

I thought the opening titles where good, though the song was
mediocre at best. I was a big fan of Piers Brosnan as Bond
but I think the last one he did the franchise was getting a
bit ridiculous and erring into cgi territory. I think what
they did with this one is brilliant though, possibly one of
the best action films ever made. I miss some of the more
campy aspects of Bond but am willing to let them go if it
means an end to things like invisible cars, cgi surfing and
people like Madonna being in it. I miss Piers but Daniel
Craig is very, very good in it.

I get a bit emotional after seeing a Bond film, they seem to
mark stages in my life, and I generally enjoy them so much
that when they're over I feel completely spent, wasted and
hopeless. I think Bond films are the pinnacle of human
endeavour.

On the subject of Bond, who reckons the new scissor sisters
track sounds (in parts) like it could be a young David Bowie
singing a Bond film intro tune? I normally dislike their
stuff, but it's not a bad track.

There are a couple of things which just amaze me:
1. You being positive
2. You being positive about a Bond movie
3. You being positive about the new Bond movie
4. You being emotional after seeing a Bond movie

I'm almost as flabbergasted as I was earlier in this thread.
Almost....And that's when my sarcasm-radar kicks in.

Ha! I'm not being sarcastic at all, I'm in fact reigning in
my emotions as I could go really over the top saying how
much I love Bond and this new film. I don't know what it is
but today I can only think about "Casino Royale" and going
to see it again at the earliest opportunity. I got like that
with Goldeneye which I saw about 5 times at the cinema.

He was rad, a cowardly psycho that was scared as well, the
torture scene with him and Bond was great. He really looked
the part and carried it off well, very good support from the
plucky Dane there.

And that's when my flabbergasms kick back in again. Thanks!

O, and now that I have your attention, do you know if the
B12 boxset will be released in time to deserve a spot under
the Xmas tree? It's going to be either that or the In A
Silent Way Sessions. ...or both

it was ok, good for a bond and a hell of a lot better than
anything after goldeneye. I missed some of the bond elements
that are typical of the series, and it was too long. Some of
the action scenes were poorly directed, especially towards
the end of the film where my interest was waning. Hopefully
the next bond will mix the best points about this film and
the previous ones. Its almost there...

oh and the title song and graphics were awful.

I don't like it as much as the really old-school Bonds,
didn't have as much fun... but it's definitely a success for
what it is and for the first time in a long time, I'm really
looking forward to future Bonds.
