I think they may have played norway recently, but it was in
Oslo and I was unable to go...

hopefully they'll drop by Bergen some time or maybe they'll
play Oslo again when I have the time/money.

I've seen The Roots live, and you have reason to be excited.
It was something called a "double concert" here in
Trondheim, where Asiandubfoundation was the other band. ADF
was way past their prime musically, and a total
disappointment live. I enjoyed their first albums and had
some hope for a good concert, but they just anced around and
acted like uninspired and arrogant pricks.

The Roots' performance was excellent. They also behaved
kinda arrogant, but in a cool way. Especially Questlove
banging them drums and fiddling his afro-comb like he was
the king of hip-hop. They really rocked the venue, so I
guess you're up for a nice evening :)

did they do a 70s rock medley with stuff like Ironman and
Dazed and Confused when you saw them? that blew my little
smelly socks off.

They were fucking awesome by the way. Seeing them live this
time pushed Game Theory up my album of the year. Questlove
singing Roxanne was also badass.

Plan B was all right in support as well.

Nice. Didn't see your question until now, but I can't
remember if they played that medley-thing. This was in 2001,
and I had only heard "Things Fall Apart" (excellent album,
btw) before I went to the concert.

No. As you might have noticed, The Roots and Efterklang has
kinda different styles. Since The Roots-concert had the
volume on max, you couldn't actually hear any Jæren-farmer
shouting: "Åååh! Eg e så fudle! Detta e kjedeligt, spell
nåkke Eifeks!"

:P
