is it "classics" released through r&s a proper afx album or
is it a selection of songs chosen by the record label? is it
good? attention...I'm not refering to saw85-92/II...

Classics is a album that was put together by RDJ.... not the
label. And yes.. it is VERY fucking good Id reccomend it to
every AFX fan.

It's a compilation of all his "classic" tracks from the R&S
days - things like the XYLEM tube EPs & Didge etc...pretty
tough hard stuff if you are used to his SAWI work...

And yeah, it is a real classic!!!...

I'm pretty sure the tracks are compiled by R&S. Classics was
released without the permission of Richard, i have read it
in an interview many years ago.

It was released to cash in on the fact that none of his R&S
singles were previously available on CD. Now as a result you
see it in all major record shops, making R&S a packet in the
process. Good compilation though (if you haven't already got
them!)

As I supposed. Infact the compilation dates back to 1994(!?)
but in that period he had already moved to warp...

It was released after rdj left R&S...those trax were
released on R&S so they could do what they liked with em, I
guess..depending on contracts etc...

I guess rdj couldn't care less tho...I imagine his money
from WARP more than covered any displeasure at R&S...(who
were a rocking label...)..

Anyone know any news on Rennaat & Sabine?...

classics are very underrated. The three tracks Nacmat
mentioned are great. And then there are dodeccaheedron,
metapharstic, phloam....

A must have for any aphex fan who goes beyond his well-known
works like RDJ album, windowlicker, come to daddy etc.

Yes, you are in right. The reason that this album is so
underrated is that it is very hard to get into. The music is
also very brutal. Absolute genious noise bye the way!

Classics = Classics. Excellent indeed.
