which is the album you love to listen to when the sun is
coming out but there's still a bit of darkness?
well my favourite is the debu album by Lamb, it fits
perfectly with that part of the day...

and the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack among other things
that is good during anything to do with sleep or beauty

hi

i like the milkman song in the morning. not because the text
is about milk delivery in the early hours, but the melody
sounds like a sunny sunday morning. yep.

well what a strange thing to start the day with Confield!I
really like it, what it's the soundtrack of a nightmare...it
should be "the Matrix" soundtrack...

Probably...I've got the CD single somewhere...seem to recall
it was one of those 2 CD releases but my mem is shot...

I always think of that first album as their "Dungeree"
album...they had kinda dodgy sub-Dexys image issues, I
guess....

Since Iron Lung works all night, perhaps his choice has
something to do with it. I mean, morning for him is like
evening to me.

I would say thats about right....When I get here ( at
10:30pm ) I have to find some music that is a little more
uplifiting and uptempo...to get me started....

So yeah byt 9 am I am ready to be listening to something
melodic and beautiful...Not too loud or flashy....

I.E.: Geogaddi/Confield

p.s.- I am hardly working either Nac....=)

My mem is shot, but I think they are from either Leeds or
Kent....(or maybe DORSET...yeah, i think thats it...)...

Or is it Nottingham?...

Somewhere fucking rural anyway...;)..

Yeah, Tom M...the original Aphex Twin(Schizophrenia...)...
I've got their Reload Ep on my desk (1993, on Creation of
all people..)...and I've heard the 76:14 tracks a few
times...but I'm not 100% taken with him & his mate; they are
a bit over elaborate for my liking....

Yeah, jonesy, He is on Ninja Tune and rather strange
combination of american folk and turntable scratching stuff.
Works well at the moment, but I have to listen to it more
closely when I get home... If you really, really loathe Neil
Young etc. you might dislike this, though.

Right. I do like Neil Young (some of) but usually hate folky
stuff. It might be something I can get my girlfriend
listening to rather than Joni bloody Mitchell.

I thought Lamb were from Scandanavia or somewhere. Obviuosly
not.

If ya gilfrend likes some avant treatment of kazoos and
acoustic guitars (avant, as in: scratched to hell), and has
an ear for Jayhawks etc., she might like it. I like it.
There's a considerable air of surreal turntablism to it so
it's not just cowgirl friendly music.

I like 'Yo La Tengo - Painful' in the morning. It starts
nice and quiet then throughout the album it grows. By the
end of it I'm awake happy and ready to get out and do stuff.

Doves 'Lost Souls'. If you don't have this album then you're
a poo-face with no clue, about the poo (or the fact that you
do not own the best album since Endtroducing)

well, I'm never up to see the sun come up... when I get up
for school, it's already up... but then, I like some up
tempo music to get me ready for the day... something like
Daft Punk's Homework, or Drukqs maybe...

Early in the morning it has to be something pretty soft and
ambient, Stars of the Lid or Brian Eno maybe.

well...i typically dont enjoy being up at that time...except
in the summer...its nice then...
but i'd say SAW2 is the perfect dawn soundtrack...that or
something by brian eno...or 'treefingers' by radiohead

I've been meaning to hike up the hills near my house at
about 4am and watch the sun come up with some choice tracks
on my MP3 player, but:
a) I'd need to make the climb several times in the light to
make sure I ddin't fall when it was dark.
b) I only have 32Mb of memory so it'd have to be a fast
sunrise.
c) I'm lazy.

get one of those cd mp3 players... I was thinking about
getting one when I bought my cd player during Christmas, but
I don't have a writeable cd rom, so I figured I'd just get a
standard cd player...
