(email i just recieved from the International Fund For
Animal Welfare)
http://www.ifaw.org

In less than 4 weeks a seal hunt will be raging on the ice
fields off Canada's east coast.

This is the largest hunt for marine mammals in the world.

We at IFAW have been on the ice fields during the annual
hunt ... heard the cries of the seals ... seen them
desperately try to scramble away ... only to be shot or
bludgeoned to death.

This is a bloodbath that must be stopped. If you were to
witness it personally, your heart would break.

IFAW investigators have documented hundreds of acts of
animal abuse and violations of Canada's criminal code -
seals beaten with clubs, baby seals impaled on hooks ...
even seals being skinned alive.

I need you to flood Canadian embassies around the world with
protest. Tell your Canadian Ambassador you are outraged by
the cruelty, the unsustainable killing and the waste.

that's not right, man. i feel that the rest of the animals
deserve just as much respect as we Homo Sapiens desire.

>i'm like most people, too lazy to care.

I am with this guy. Its really easy to get all sanctemonious
and shit. Its easy for people to say they feel that this
kinda stuff is bad. But then you find out that actually
acting against these kinda things require energy...

I feel that animals do deserve just as much respect as
people. And I give them that respect. What do I say when
people mention that a bunch of people have died? "Nature is
a naturally violent place... human being being a product of
nature are naturally enclined towards violence. Its all part
of the natural ballance."

well, i think that some people in a certain nation who
commit questionable acts such as these doesn't denote that
all the citizens of that nation are "damn".
but i would respect hunting if it was conveyed by survival
motives. those particular hunters as discussed are abusing
their human power and should be questioned.

Americans have always liked the idea of hitting little white
things with wooden sticks, haven't they?

in that case, maybe nutrients should be synthesized in
solutions and then injected directly into our bloodstreams
so ethics wouldn't be disturbed :þ
