own is to pwn, as
pwn is to ___?

maybe "qwn" (alphabetical progression)
or "[wn" (progression along the keyboard)

i'm not sure.

it's certainly worthy of further research though; see if you
can get a grant to investigate this shit.

i thought that was the sort of thing they actually did for
research in english departments. its not necessarily shit,
but it is slightly pointless.

"own" (logical symmetry)

obvious truth? perhaps. but not on fridays

Yep. "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" mentions internet
abbreviations/conventions. Far enough really, I imagine when
the letter was a new fangled technology and people started
writing things they wouldn't normally say it was seen as
improper English, but over time it becomes percieved as
classical. Who knows, our great grandchildren may find
"lolzorz!1!!" in the dictionary.

It's only when people do a whole degree on something like
this it seems a bit pointless to me.
