oh also one of the tracks features a small russian cimbala.
any advice on tuning this instrument would be great as ive
got no documentation of any kind. just wondering about the
strengths of the strings etc. its a plucked one rather then
a dulcimer one.

Right i am going to have to go over to my friends house
later to get some drivers for my soundcard. The upshot of
that is that i will be able to listen to this then. I am in
the library killing some time before i meet the label boss
later. I will definately get this!

Ok, so like i promised. Here is the review.

Overall, production wise i thought this was good. Alot of
nice flourishes that excitment. I thonk some of the
soundscould have been messed with a little more and a little
more excitment in the mid range would have improved things
alot.

To the tracks: I think that some of the tracks have alot in
common with plaid. Some of the strange cadences make an
appearence on some of the tracks. You might want to try and
take this things and make them work for you in your own
style. Kick fiasco sounds alot like ventolin in production
style. I do think that there are good ideas here. I think
pengpang is the best track with some very nice ideas and
flourishes also reminds me of orbital a little too.

cheers for the feedback skink. like i said in my first post
a lot of it is bare bones stuff compared to what i normally
do and the sounds wouldve probably been messed with a lot
more if i wasnt conciously trying to keep away from that
style. a lot of the beats are intentionally simple as well
which is something i have been avoiding for a while. kind of
a back to basics thing with song writing rather then
production techniques being the focus.

comparisons to ventolin and orbital have made my day!
huzzah!
