1.) Today I've gone to the dentist to get a cavity filled, now I can't close my mouth fully as there is a large chunk of material in the way. (bit of history: this dentist has, in the past, cracked my jaw by forcing my jaw open awkwardly, which took me a full year and a half to recover from)
2.) Just moments ago a crane arm flung itself into our house, or should I say, an incompetent louse just flung a crane arm into our house, ripping the north corner off as well as a large section of electrical equipment--I don't know how my computer is running, it must have been the phone line. I think they were originally trying to do something with our septic tank...
3.) My anus is not bleeding anymore, but with no thanks to doctors.

Maybe there was a burglar on the side of your house and the crane operator was swatting it for you

Hang on hang on hang on... aren't from the Land of Suing People, can't you take him to court and live off of the damages for the rest of your life? Can't you sue your doctor for being shit as well?

I probably could, but winning lawsuits is a fine art that I'm not experienced with. And I think you have to have a lot of money in the first place...
Anyway, my dentist is a good photographer and I'm sure he's miserable besides

Your anus is the only competent professional in your sorry tale. It's gone and fixed itself.
I wouldn't continue seeing a dentist who's less skilled in his field than my anus is in its respective field.

No seriously, propose it to a lawyer, and he will do it, if he's certain that you will win the lawsuit. Thats his way of making money also. Get your parents to help.
I can't believe the shit (sorry) you've gone through.

-bad teeth run in the (dad's side of the) family.
-My parents will never sue anyone, no matter how many injustices they suffer; and they won't help me sue anyone either, I'm quite sure.
-the crane came to us

You just contact the right kind of lawyer. They are working for the money too since they usually take a cut, don't they? Never done this.

Incompetence, after dishonesty, is one of my biggest hates.
Companies tolerate it because accounts rule the roost and they seem unable to comprehend that pissing off your clients by hiring incompetents isn't worth saving a couple of grand a year.
I do my job exceedingly well (just had an email from the head of my division mentioning that a client had emailed them, praising me). I recognise not everyone can be 'very good' at their job (if they were, we wouldn't have a yardstick to measure it by). What I cannot understand though, is why western society seems to of developed laws that prevent you from sacking people for consistent incompetence and that the notion of doing so is culturally unacceptable.
One week earlier this year I counted the number of fuck-ups I encountered dealing with different companies. It was 12, out of a possible 14 exchanges. Perhaps most infuriating are the ones where the process of resolving the initial fuck up turns into a long drawn out process (containing other fuckups) itself. It'd be funny if it wasn't real life.
I've gotten to the stage where I don't really care how cheap a company is, if they fuck up with any sort of regularity, I won't use them. I even won't use companies that are partnered with fuckwits that may impact on me, for reasons beyond the original company's direct control. For example, I'll pay £20-30 more to buy electrical goods from a company which doesn't use City Link as their courier, just because City Link (AKA 'Shitty Stink') are spectuacularly bad and the aggro that comes with receiving an order from them isn't worth the saving.
Incidentally, I need to make a dental appointment, ta for reminding me. Sorry to hear about your spectacular run of bad luck.

What I cannot understand though, is why western society seems to of developed laws that prevent you from sacking people for consistent incompetence and that the notion of doing so is culturally unacceptable. i guess it's the bad side (what's the expression) of the employee's rights and stuff. i guess you're right anyway though
