 | Attempts at making pop music are greatly appreciated. I really like that.

 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

 * Good pop music is the best there is

 * It sounds a bit like squarepushers "pop" songs (red hot
 car, do you know squarepusher)

 * Good thing with a slow beat, and some funky snare attacks
 from time to time

 * Beat is funky in general (maybe a bit to R n
 Bish/unpersonal, but what the hell)

 * Good song to make a cover of

 -----------------------------------------------------------

 * I think it lacks some stuff that made the original good
(chord structure i think. Could have stayed truer to the
 original in that respect)

 * Something about the vocoder sounds doesnt sound quite
 right in my head.

All in all, glad to see something on the board in this
style. I'd like to hear you explore the genre more, maybe
make some of your own compositions.

 | nice one, i really liked it i only would have preferred it if the beat was less jittery
and a bit heavier. great job on the vocoding and bass, it's
definitely good to hear this kind of thing on here. *listens

 | Sounds quite nice, although a bit like a first draft - I think it needs more harmonic depth; there are times when I
felt a real need for harmonic depth but nothing happened.
 Harmonic Depth.

 | I like the idea and the style, but yeah, it's a bit musically sparse, seems to be missing something. Harmonic
depth, or something... yeah harmonic depth sounds right, I
think I'm onto something there. But I like it, interesting
 listen.

 | I agree with what the others say. It needs a little remix, and THEN it will certainly be a classic.

One thing, that might be a completely personal preference,
is that it doesnt sound rough enough. It could carry a bit
more punch and richness. Either that, or it has to sound
perfect and "expensive", wich it doesnt quite do right now
either. Maybe loose the reverb on the vocoder, but more of
the baground click clacks with a long reverb on.

I might not have a clue what i'm talking about, so do with
 this what you want.

The reason i take time to elaborate on it, is because i
basically like the tune quite a bit, and i'd (as i said
before) really love to hear more in this style from you.

This goes for the rest of xltronic as well.

 | it's good, but I don't really like the vocoding; it's too prominent in the song. You should either make it fit better
in or just leave the vocoding out and use the voice
unmodified... it'd probably sound great if you just sang it
and overdubbed yourself a few times with different tones.

 | first let me say that I hate when people cover beatles songs, especially their slower stuff not to mention from the
white album. That said, I really really like it. I can
definietly see everyones opinions with the more harmonic
depth but at the same time if you make it too much like the
original I think it will take away from your version. I do
like the vocoding if you keep the melodies thin, it adds
this cold feeling to it, which is a nice juxtiposition which
the actual lyrics from the song. Overall very well done

 | When I record songs that are sung out of both sync and tune I use Nuedo (stretching) and Melodyne (tuning) to fix it!
Subtle usage works like a charm.

 | ha! I'm dead busy. Working on band material. That track has progressed in odd directions - I don't know if I'd be
comfortable reading folks slagging it off before I've
decided I'm done with it. I'm not particularly desperate for
 praise either.
Anyway, It's not just piano and violin any more - never was
intended to be really but now it's more different than it
was - I know this is making no sense.
I'm working on about 8 different projects at once! All of
them half started. Or half finished. Or half arsed :)

I promise that, if anyone cares, once I finish something
I'll post it for critical appraisal.

 | make sure you do that! you don't even need to post it for the purpose of people criticising it, I just want to hear it
because I remember the excerpt as being very good, and I
also hope that any other tracks are as good. However,
if you ever do post it, I'll probably criticise it
even if you don't want me to, but critique can be good as
well as bad and constructive even when it's bad.. or
something. In short: post finished tracks when they're..
 finished...
