Mother, Beloved

I hadn't recorded an acoustic song alone in a while. I
thought it was time I did. It's longer than anything I've
done alone, the lyrics are meaningful (to me anyways) and
the recording quality still sucks. :] After lots more
practice I have become much more used to hearing my own
voice, and it's not so hard on my ears anymore even though
it still may be a bad voice. That's the first step in
getting good though is being comfortable with yourself.

THIS IS ABOUT WHEN YOU OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE PASSES AWAY,
DON'T BE SAD. MAKE IT THE BEST YOU CAN. :] PERHAPS YOU CAN
DECIPHER THE MESSAGE FROM THE METAPHORS?

"I came to make my peace with Mother Earth.
Cause in the end I want to be laid at ease within Her.
My bones will grow in that dirt.
And a golden tree will stand where I sleep.

My bones will grow in that dirt.
(Pardon me for passing by.)
And a golden tree will stand where I sleep.
(A garden in the sky.)

My bones will grow in that dirt.
(Pardon me for passing by.)
And a golden tree will stand where I sleep.
(A garden in the sky.)

Don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be afraid.
Don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be afraid.
Don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be afraid.
Don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be afraid.
Don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be a-, don't be afraid.
Don't be afraid, to rain on your parade,
To brighten up the shade at your grave.

When you see your family smiling,
Tell them not to cry.
Cause when the weather gets cold,
Everyone has got to learn to fly."

Thanks goDel. :] I spent time with this. Because it's
important to me. I still have problems getting the recording
part right though. I want to learn how to record better.
Real bad.

To me, it's a feel good song after a lot of bad things have
passed. Like sunlight after a storm. I dunno, I don't want
to get all faggy and stuff, but I can't help it. Thanks. :]

put more into your voice

if you sing louder, you'll normally sing a bit better (up to
a certain limit, of course; don't start shouting, and don't
go out of your "voice-mood"). You can then put yourself back
in the mix after. It's also good to overdub your voice even
on the parts that aren't the chorus if you don't have a good
mic.

I'll work on that, thanks. :] I tend to be kind of quiet.

Good stuff Swift_Jam - My chum is a singer/song writer,
trying really hard to get signed, he's on the verge too.

Anyway, his link to his web page is below and I just know
he'd help you with recording.
