Are there any topics you don't joke about? Topics that, when someone makes a joke about it, you just go silent or say "that's not fucking funny bitch." I'd imagine one example is stuff like rape.. like, if someone says "ha! I'll definitely rape that one tonight!" in a joking manner, and then you'll just turn around and leave. ? |

yes, there are a few... i usually don't like racist or sexist jokes. and rape is the subject i really don't joke about and don't want to hear jokes about. |

I don't like jokes about people made right after they die (some of the croc hunter stuff did piss me off).. it just shows poor taste. Other then that I don't take offense to anything other then personal insults. People who get offended at broad ideas ("Dude don't make fun of gay people around me. It's offensive" over everything. |

Subjects don't annoy me. A few humans do, but thats mainly by the way they act, and not necessarily the things they talk about. Besides, taboo subjects can be funny. Just watch Brass Eye. |

There's few things as soul crushing as when you're talking to someone, say a work colleague, and, you know, you're not that close but you get along, you think they're pretty decent. Then, one day, in an almost confidential manner, they tell you a really lame rascist joke, that betrays both their lack of a sense of humour and their estimation of you, that they think you might find this funny and that you too, secretly, harbour the same fear and mistrust of other races. That's unfunny. |

I'm personally a big fan of rascist jokes, but i only tell them to people that know that i'm not rascist in any way. The situation dog_belch desbribes would be horrible. Rascist jokes to me, makes fun of people that are rascist. Generally, with my friends, we take the piss on anything, but one thing i never make fun of is cancer. It's simply because my mom had it when i was younger, so a joke like that makes me think of that (it sucked). |

Nothing really does if its said at the right time, but at the wrong time or with the wrong intent, I will get pretty pissed. Also, I get mad when they are really cheap, easy jokes, using just shock factor for humor.. |

Anything is fair game, I can find anything funny and I'm offended by absolutely nothing. If I had terminal ass cancer, I'd still find jokes about ass cancer hilarious. But I watch myself around people I'm not overly familiar with/close to. I don't say anything remotely politically incorrect, ever, unless I'm absolutely sure it won't offend. The things I joke about with some people that I AM close to and comfortable with are awful and evil, though we take great care to not be overheard by anyone not in ''the loop''. The awfulness of it becomes like a running joke, and you can't help but take it as far as it can go. Not hurting anyone if you pick your spots. |

I should add that someone that IS actually racist making racist jokes is infuriating, but a racist joke made by someone that loves all humanity can be a joy. |

haha, I don't really think you would truly never be offended, but me and my mates do the same thing as you're talking about there.. the worse it is the better it is.. it's not necessarily about making it funny, though, it's just.. the grossness of it, and most of the time we don't even find it funny ourselves (like a song we made about raping underage nuns before cannibalising them), but there's something about the whole process that makes everything else seem just.. really really ridiculous... |

gay jokes generally piss me off. yeah, gay people like penises (if they are male), lets see how many jokes we can come up with around that... it's not really the subject matter of "gay people" that I find distasteful (the gay voice can be funny to me) but rather the people who choose to constantly make awful, stupid, punny jokes about what gay people do. I'm mostly talking about one of my slightly stupid friends, he also loves talking about black people (I let him think I agree with him just to see how far he'll go, he goes pretty far. letting him think I agree also lets me reel him back once he's gone off the deep end; it's a delicate situation). but it's easy to become racist at this school--they import an all-black, inner city (american) football team and they are the most flamboyant, stereotypical meat-headed black guys you could ever hope to see. And other than maybe one other black guy in the school, they're all anyone's exposed to. The irony is that the football team is awful, they didn't win a single game last year. |

Yeah, most of the jokes aren't genuinely funny, but that... just makes it funnier. The worst is when you walk by a person of, say, a different race, and someone makes a racist joke and you just can't believe they just said that. We harbour no such thoughts, we hate people that do, yet you said that horrible thing anyway. It's just so wrong on so many levels. Hard not to laugh at the absurdity. One of the coolest things you can do is make racist jokes with people of a different race. It really makes you feel... close to them. And maybe I could be offended. You'd have to make a horrible joke about my grandparents or something. It just never happens though. Unless I egg someone on to make a really classless personal joke, but then it's not offensive. |

yeah, it's generally the situation itself that is funny.. the jokes are just bad. What makes stuff even better is to plan out outrageous things to do without ever having the intention of going through with it.. like going to some strangers party and just hang around for a while.. then, suddenly you go into his bedroom and shit in his bed before you leave the party. It makes your current situation almost as silly as that would've been because you're not doing it or something... it's hard to explain. ..and yeah, I know about that making racist jokes with people who they would, in seriousness, be directed at... I had this mate who was from bangladesh or something and he used to call other foreign people "pakkis" (it's like a norwegian "nigger" for people from pakistan or other places where the skin colour is somewhat similar (which of course included himself)). |

i have no problem with racist jokes, though most people do. which is stupid, cos its not like theres any racism there. the jokes are pretty much stereotypes which arent meant to offend anyone or anything, and half the time, i find the humour in racist jokes funny pretty much because of the big deal there is about makking jokes about such things, asif you're not sposed. i aint racist but i do find most racist jokes and such funny. ive kind of had few talks about it and such, and some friends dont mind, but alot of people take offense to it, which is why the post is so long. blablbabla. |

When people get offended by the subject of a joke it reminds me of people who are opposed to capital punishment, UNTIL they have a daughter who is raped or someone close who has some equally tragic thing happen to them. People who get offended by some jokes probobly have a personal reason for that and don't simply find it offensive. Homer Simpson probobly summed it up best when he said "It's funny cause its not me" |

the only time something uncomfortable happened with my friends was back in high school. we were kind of always joking about race stuff, especially about jews because one of my close friends was jewish so we liked to kid with him. this one night we were all together at my friend harrison's house and we were playing some military video game about the middle east or something, and the attitude was just crazy at the time, we were all laughing and yelling and stuff and it was a really good time. i don't remember exactly what happened, but some huge event took place in this video game (i think a helicopter blew up or something) and all of a sudden my friend zach just yelled, "i hate niggers!" we all just stopped for a minute and had kind of a, "what the fuck?" moment. it was definately awkward, but i find it really funny when i look back on it. (by the way, the guy isn't really racist, his current roommate is black) |
