Just curious, I was wondering if anybody knows how many
albums, generally, Aphex sells. I mean, does he go gold
immediately? platinum? copper? Just curious.

Yeah, I asked basically the same thing, with no real
answer...

I was thinking that I know how many albums some pop stars
sell (lots, platinum immediately), figured Richard was a
huge musician, remembered hardly any 'real' people know who
he is, realized he nonetheless has a (considerately) huge
underground following, came up with the conclusion that I
guess absolutely nothing about his record sales numbers.

My guess would be that he's probably got a few albums that
have gone gold...maybe.

I really don't know.

Gold is what? 500,000?

I remember seeing a copy of Roni Size/Reprazent - New Forms
that said it had sold 500,000 (or maybe it was just 50,000),
so I figure, if that's true, it's not improbable that
Richard hasn't sold that many of an album.

That would be cool if there was a site where you could check
sales numbers.

Someone told that RDJ was the best-selling with 130 000 or
so, and almost 90 000 for Drukqs

well I've read that windowlicker sold 300.000 records, and
so also Come to daddy i thinhk; Druqks went at number 21 in
England so at least he has sold 100.000 of each album. I've
also read that selected ambient works 85-92 sold 30.000
copies while sawII went near to the top ten in England.
Remember that he was nominated for a brit, so he's a very
selling-album man...

A Warp-distributor sent our radio a mail about Geogaddi. It
said that MHTRTC sold 100.000.
