This band were so great. Ambient synth-pop with a great
bassist, drummer and singer. Amazing. Tin Drum and Oil On
Canvas are both great albums, if not, essential. How David
Sylvian can say everything he did with Japan is crap is
beyond me.

Their punk stuff's pretty good too.

Tin Drum is amazing. Really ahead of their game, shame
there's no bands that imaginative now.

Listened to Oil On Canvas today, and I really can't believe
how much I've missed out on before. I mean, I've always
thought "Wow, great album" but today it just really struck a
chord to me. Weird.

i got to know Japan thanks to Jenkinsons' Breezeblock set
(can't remember when...oldie) and he played 'My New Career'.
It's still one of my fav. pop songs, the bass playing in
that song is incredible.

Haha getting back into their stuff yet again, it's friggin
brilliant I tell you!

A Foreign Place (Quiet Life B-side) is the template to
Pocket Symphony by Air. I just dumped that track on the end
of the Pocket Symphony playlist and I actually thought I was
listening to the same album.
