that would be Oscar Peterson, the unsung hero who actually
created Phuture's "Acid Trax" but was dropped from the acid
"trio" when he started getting a bit too off-the-hook with

These instruments weren't meant to be used for making freaky
acid tracks. They were just the equivalent of the fake
sounding drums on an old church organ. The TR606 was used on
Big Black's first album as a standard rock drums
replacement. You eq it right and bury it in the mix, it
doesn't sound so fake.
