what's your favorite basic channel record?
for me it's without a doubt bc04
all four winners
my favorite moment of all the bc's is at 1:38 in track 2
when the bass is faded in too loud

I like anything and everything by them.

Today, in the car, I had Phylyps - Trak II

I always liked Radiance the best. III in particular is
great. For Maurizio, it is undoubtably M-4 A. That has been
my mobile phone ringtone for the past few years too.
Stunning track.

radiance III
(BC-08, track B2, 13:28 - confusingly track 5 called "II
(edit)", 9:21, on the Basic Channel CD)

- best track ever!

(Maurizio M7 12" & BC-05 - Presence/Inversion are simply
stunning too)

Well 4.5A is quite similar, and I love that too. The
unreleased mix of m07b is fucking phat too.

everything basic channel is my fav. but quadrant dub is my
faviest. that track is the soundtrack of heaven! o yes it
is

i'm still hoping they release all of them as mp3 at bleep. a
couple of rhythm&sound releases are already up there...if
only those fuckers would release the rest as well...in flac

heaven

oh yes all these 12" in flac without all %€"€#/%&
vinyl-noise would be awesome (all my BC 12" seems to be of
poor quality :( ) - they could charge a lot, I would buy it
anyway....

I like PBS. Nickelodeon is funny too, sometimes. And the
news...probably MSNBC.

actually, I think BC tracks adheres to the incomplete
without surface noise
statement things

yeah, I know that's the consensus about BC, but I listened
to the M7-CD edits today and got a bit carried away. (a bit
different in sound to the M7 12" that came after in the same
playlist!) I mean - only the lofi delay and grainy sound and
nothing more... really nice. There's a special "silence" in
the minimal M7- rhythm & bass that I find really special.

link is dead!

my absolute fav:

basic reshape - the climax

13 minutes pure bliss.

cyrus - enforcement on the second place - probably one of
the most minimal tracks ever.

phylyps trak I on the third place.

oh and i highly recommend this scion - arrange and proces
thingie - they mixed loops from different tracks in ableton
- there are a few at once playing at times - really worth
checking out. the only bad thing about this is that
enforcement and phylyps trak are playd so slow....

arrange and process

when it comes to chain reaction my fav must be vainqueur -
elevation II (original)

close by stands scion - emerge1 from the emerge ep

im glad that rene loewe together with substance bring back
those sounds on his new "scion versions" label - listen to
those recently released Substance & Vainqueur - Surface /
Immersion and Substance & Vainqueur - Reverberation /
Reverberate tracks. dub at it's finest.

btw. rhythm and sounds plays in poland in august :P feel
free to drop by

M 4.5 sounds best at 45rpm (pitched down a bit though). more
specific, the perfect pitch is at where the track-length is
666 secs. and that's not kidding either. i did cut out the
long out-tro, though. you know, the out-tro where you think
the track has finished but if you listen close enough is
still playing far away in the background.

on a nostalgic side note: M4.5 was my first basic channel.
at the first couple of listens i couldn't hear whether it
should be played at 33 or 45. 33 felt too slow, and just
didn't sound right. 45 was simply too fast, but in the
runout groove it said - upon not so close inspection 45. so
i got used to listening to it at a compromised speed:
downpitched 45. and i'm still convinced it just sounds
better at that speed, even though it should have been 33 all
along.

They're all good, but right now it's Octagon/Octaedre. I've
got an mp3 of it.

My favorite CR is an easier pick, it's Porter Ricks -
Biokinetics.
Fluxion - Vibrant Forms II might be a close second.
