Ok, so downtown yesterday, the Scion car company was doing a promo in partnership with the Homers Record Store. It you took a ride in one of their new models around the block, you got 15 bucks in form of gift certificate to spend at Homers. No catch. So, of course, I took the ride, and got the free shit! Picked up Boards Of Canada - Trans Canada Highway EP 12" and Influx - Evolvers 12". I may go again to get some more free money, dress up in costumes, use a fake moustache, etc. Or get some friends to do it, who don't like music like this, then I can get lotsa' tunes free. ;) |

Ok, well, I was kind of pissed that they would be allowed to do that. I mean, anyone who wanted to could find a way to wipe out a lot of the music there, and Homers wouldn't see a dime of it. But still, it's 15 bucks free of music. |

Kinda like Jurrasic 5. When you come down, if gthey are still here, take the test ride. It lasts maybe 10 seconds, then you fill out a gay survey, they give you a t-shirt, a promo sampler CD, and the 15 dollar card. |

They didn't have much, a few BOC albums, Twoism I saw, Geodaddi, lots of Hot Chip, that kind of stuff. Come check it out. I like the Scions that look like a big box, the really square ones. I think they look cool without all the graphics on them, just one solid color. |

Scion does that here (and other cities) they throw like a free event or two everymonth (with big names) @ the shelter (in detroit) last month they had a hienekin (i still can't spell that beer) night; i.e. free beer missed that night DAMN! also, at all the free events they always have like 50 shouldbags (to hold vinyl) to give away and a bunch of stuff they dont force their marketing on you too hard either. :) |
