Italic Eyeball mystery

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-06-06 22:00 [#00008516]

Check out the info on the newspage. What do you think?

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-06 22:06 [#00008518]

Damn, sounds good. I think it said "perhaps I had wicked
childhood" thats what I heard anyway. But its defninitly
cool anyway!

Loogie from Oxford, UK on 2001-06-06 23:08 [#00008527]

I reckon "wicked" too. The voice sounds a bit like Julie
Andrews I think.

Loogie from Oxford, UK on 2001-06-06 23:15 [#00008528]

... so I did a search on the net for "perhaps I had a wicked
childhood" and sure enough it comes back with The Sound Of
Music!
...which is quoted in another aphex track.

thanksomuch from miami on 2001-06-07 01:57 [#00008548]

yes, i'd have to say, the voice says "wicked", which, is
rather befitting...

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-06-07 06:48 [#00008554]

I thought everyone knew that!

rob fragilenine from cthepolis on 2001-06-07 06:51 [#00008555]

yeah it's in the AFX FAQ...

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-06-07 07:21 [#00008559]

rob: And now we have validated it!

dronox from michigan on 2001-06-07 12:50 [#00008593]

Nice.. clearly says "perhaps I had a wicked childhood" :)

dronox from michigan on 2001-06-07 12:50 [#00008594]

Nice.. clearly says "perhaps I had a wicked childhood" :)

The Anticule from Stavanger/Norway on 2001-06-07 14:15 [#00008604]

I also mean that it said: "Perhaps I had a wicked
childhood..."

daishox from philadelphia PA on 2001-06-07 18:11 [#00008635]

Perhaps I had a wicked childhood, perhaps I had a miserable
youth
But somewhere in my wicked, miserable past, there must have
been a moment of truth

- The Sound of Music

thomfoo from USA on 2001-06-08 01:48 [#00008657]

it is blatently saying "wicked childhood." there is no way
neone (unless they were a fool) would here "lonley"

boxrocket from here i am on 2001-06-08 06:02 [#00008669]

C:1 "What is the voice saying at the start of 'Italic
Eyeball'?"

Played backwards, the voice sings: "Perhaps I had a wicked
childhood." It is
Maria von Trapp (Julie Andrews) in _The Sound Of Music_. It
is also played
forward later on in the song.

---this is taken from the FAQ section at this very
website...

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-08 06:51 [#00008670]

Yeah but when you have more than one person actually try it,
then its confirmed, there has been confirmation. for all we
know that person could have guessed.? i dunno, itsjust cool.

phunqstorer from Bulgaria on 2001-06-08 14:37 [#00008730]

hey, what's that "the sound of music" anyway?

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-08 15:17 [#00008737]

You don't know what The Sound Of Music is!? What the hell? i
thought everyone had heard of that. anyway, its amovie, a
really old one, disputably the most popular movie in
cinematic history, obviously RDJ enjoys sampling this song.

phunqstorer from Bulgaria on 2001-06-09 22:08 [#00008972]

what's this film about?
it seems i've missed a lot, ha?

will on 2001-06-11 10:33 [#00009191]

yeah, except for the "lonely" part: I think it's definitely
"wicked".

desynch on 2001-06-11 17:06 [#00009226]

This have been discussed before. And it says "Perhaps I had
a weird childhood".

Pylox from Portland, Oregon on 2001-06-16 06:18 [#00009925]

I would have to agree that it does in fact say "wicked" and
NOT "lonely", I does sound a great deal like Julie Andrew,
I'll rent some of her films and find out what movie.

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-16 08:22 [#00009932]

Pylox: WHY!?. Read on... its so obvios that its her, and
that its The Sound Of Music... im pretty damn sure.. oh well
whatever.. maybe youll like her movies.. use the net.. its
easier/quicker to find out.

XePhA88|Tony3.0 from on my couch on 2001-06-23 18:41 [#00010793]

hrmm... I think it says "I feel like calling tony again and
leaving him a some more psychotic messages."

mos def ... you guys don't know what the sound of music
is? then how can you listen to aphex twin? intewesting

phunqstorer from Bulgaria on 2001-06-24 09:11 [#00010838]

yeah, i don't know what the sound of music is about and i am
listenin to aphex.
i also live in bulgaria...
so, tell me bout it

|REFLEX| from Western Canada on 2001-06-24 09:28 [#00010839]

The Sound of music is a extreemly high grossing film, from
quite some time ago. I think it was the late 50's. Anyway,
its a musical and Aphex Twin seems to enjoy sampling that
movie.

phunqstorer from Bulgaria on 2001-06-24 09:39 [#00010841]

a musical from the 50's? heh
so what's so "intewesting" that i haven't heard of it,
although lisnin to aphex?

simon wood from leeds, UK on 2001-07-02 15:01 [#00011771]

The song it samples is the one where Julie Andrews is
singing to the captain bloke who she gets off with in the
end.
Hopefully the new lp will sample the singing mother
superior.

Stuffinsuch on 2001-11-04 10:59 [#00048394]

|Reflex|, you are a fucking idiot.
