i don't know about you guys, but i didn't play many games
during my childhood... but one game i did play - a helluva
lot - was transport tycoon.

i just discovered an opensource version of it, developed by
the guy who made utorrent, that has an astounding number of
useful and very cool new features and is available on the
web for free (of course).

the transport tycoon deluxe files are also necessary,
however, but if you've lost them and are interested in
getting this thing up and running, drop me a line and i'll
email them to you.

surely that's a waste of time.

it is! absolutely.

but at least it's more mentally stimulating than mario
brothers or halo 2.

perhaps intellectually stimulating would've been more
appropriate, but it'd have sounded more stilted.

i'd know, because it's an economics simulation game. it
takes more strategic thought than pointing and clicking on
monsters, or avoiding bad guys while you jump onto
platforms.
