Aphex has never done a gatefold pic of him lying with a
tiger cub....

some thriller tracks remind me a lot of sonic the hedgehog
music. I missed a lot of main stream music. I'm going to
check out the beatles and beach boys next... maybe madonna
doesn't suck; havn't heard much. pop is like idm with all
the bad parts removed heh heh. well not really good idm;
aphex truly is a wizard at his craft in my opinion, to the
point where you think he's composing with magic (come 2
daddy album minus first track).

sigh, where is your myspace account (again)

taxis is a bad name search-wise. It unpluralizes it and
searches for everything with taxi.

The Sonic connection... yeah I can see it with Thriller. The
title track from Off the Wall also sounds really Sonicy.
Lots of his best has the same driving beats and
uber-melodies that the first two Sonic games have.

Haha, and the cool thing is, Sonic 3 came out before, say,
HIStory. So that ending theme predated Stranger in Moscow.
That's Cosmic.

Yeah, Sonic 3 IS pretty damn Jacksony. It's by far my least
favorite of the Genesis Sonic soundtracks though. Sorry
Michael, the little Japanese guys > you.

speaking of which does anyone know of any actual albums by
japanese who were affiliated somehow with old school
nes/genesis type music... for example I wonder if any of the
megaman 3 people have an album.

I havn't played sonic 3 in a long time but every time they
played a sonic 3 track I didn't recognize it in that video.
One thing that sonic 1/2/thriller do is have melody 'parts'
with lots of space in between them (like 'i want to love you
PYT pretty young thing (a brief sonic type melody sound by
itself with lots of space afterward)'). Whenever I fumble
around making melodies all incorrectly I cover the whole
time line with the same putrid thing with no space between
elements. too homogeneous.

Yeah, and Janet's "Control" is great too.

Beach Boys and madonna, yes. Beattles... meh

myspace.com/taxis

I have to get rid of all the idm-ish stuff off that site
though. Its all going to be horror music and drones soon.

In many ways, its better than aphex twin. I also love the
beach boys.
