In the UK it seems like you're an arselicker if you act like that... Care to share? What, about the English reticence? Okay, I'll try to explain... People from the UK snobby? I dunno. Scottish, Welsh and Irish are supposed to hate the English but all I've met have been great, real good laugh and well up for a good time. As for those from England... I guess we can come across as snobbish but it's not how we intend it. It's just our reserve I guess. Once I was in a taxi with my ex and some mates and my girl could talk for England, and she was pissed off cos the taxi driver didn't say much... really, she ripped into him, calling him a boring bastard, but as I said after, you don't know what's up with the guy, his mum could've died for all she knows. Anyway, a lot of English can seem snobbish but they don't mean to be, it's just the way we are... wary of new people for some strange reason. Probably because we're an island nation. |
