Picture discs and coloured vinyl are poorer quality,
apparently.

...then again it can't be compared to the CD-version (who's
got a pretty weird and sharp EQ) The vinylversion sounds a
lot better I think.

really pointless, who really cares? A picture disk is meant
for one thing:
Watching a 12" picture spinning around while listening to
music.

i assumed the quality wouldn't be _as_ good; but mine sounds
downright awful.

i'll wait and play it on a good deck/catridge before
concluding.

disk looks cool tho

I've never heard the audiophile version, but the picture
disc I own is fairly rough sounding. Doesn't bother me in
the slightest.

I think I heard the CD version of XMD5a once and it wasn't
as good, the bells faded straight in, didn't rise through
the noise floor like on my picture disc.
So poorer recording quality is not necessarily poorer music
quality....as long as it entertains you, that's all that
matters.
