If you've not heard this track, check it out. You can
listen to a sample at Boomkat. Don't know how I
missed this the first time it was out.

I suppose you'd file it under dubstep, but I reckon it's
more Murcof, than Skream et al.

I listened to Burial-"Burial" last week then I deleted that
crap. Should I try this EP?

i checked out Burial and it was fucking horrible. sounded
like a nasty lowpass filter had just punched out the entire
mix.

i think i'm right in saying that all of the tracks off of
this ep are on the album burial. i'm enjoying it a
lot, makes a nice change from all the bass orientated music
out at the moment.

I think most of the album isn't that good and personally,
don't think it'll be the "crossover" dubstep hit (Various
Productions' album will be, mark my words) boomkat/the
guardian etc. reckon. Nite train (not to be confused with
"night bus") isn't on the album though; it's off the EP
"South London Boroughs".

As an aside, I think a lot of his output other than this and
the remix of "crackle blues" is massively overrated.

What do you reckon of Zomby? A different, more reggae-based
dubstep style, but also very good IMO. Can't wait for a
release of "Spliff Dub".

Burial is a really great artist, and the self-titled album
is superb. Burial took an incredibly boring genre (dubstep)
and made it listenable. I mean, just listen to Distant
Lights damnit... its an awesome track. Yes, he is hyped. But
for once, the artist deserves it. I've played this album
more than any other this year.

He's one of my favs at the moment and I don't really know
much about dubstep/grime.

waaaaaanspliffadaykeepdaevilawaaaaay

Awesome track! Zomby is just too good, "memories" is my
personal favourite i think, more of a sweet 2-steppy thing
but heavy with it. He's done fucking loads of great stuff
that i bet never comes out :(

Can you give me a link to some of his stuff? I've only heard
one track off a radio show (other than the stuff on his
myspace page) and can't find it for DL anywhere? He is
supposed to have a 2 track 12" coming out soon.

I'm just trawling my barefiles folder to see if i can find
which mix has all the zomby stuff in... and lo and behold,
can i find it, can i fuck. Sorry, organisation ain't my
strong point... i've heard a lot of his tracks on
sub fm though, deapoh (guy who runs barefiles) seems
to have a fair few dubs by yer man, usually plays his sets
monday evening. Should be on in about an hour actually :)

I must retract my earlier statements re: the burial album.
I'm really enjoying it at the moment. I still think that in
a few places it's (almost amateurishly) too low and the bass
goes a bit murky, but other than that, it's dead good. A
real grower and I'd recommend anyone who has listened once
or twice and wasn't that impressed to give it another couple
of listens before writing it off.

Swears: I dunno. Whilst I'd like Skream more in a club, the
high end is a bit too digital sounding for my liking in many
places. This is okay when there's a catchy melody (request
line/0800 dub), but otherwise grates a bit.
