"im a bit surprised to hear old recycle here likes it that

much. it's music for kids, i'd expect your son would listen

to this in couple of years not you :)"

Ive been meaning to ask you this for the past 6-12 months.
When did you get so sinical about music and everything ?
You used to like new things and go along with the positive
state of music. And now it seem like you (and there are
others on the board) who like to bash every artists that
comes out. Artists change, if they stayed the same it would
be intirely boring and dull.

I still love you mate, but is the new Boards of Canada
really shite in your mind ? If so, im a bit sorry for you.

Granted, its not thier best (imo), but it still beats 95%
of
the crap out there.

Just wondering,
thad

actually that was half joke, therefore the smiley at the
end, but yeah, i think boc could do better. the thing is a
lot of these hyped artists around here are my youth heros an
i'd expect something more challenging from them nowdays i
suppose. sure, tch is better that 95% of electronica coming
out nowdays, but that alone doesn't make it good. i think my
expectations are too high, but that's artists fault since
they were the ones that set high standards for themselves.
aphex and autechre still kick ass.

What ?

Your telling us that Analod cd/vinyls from 10+ years ago

And Autechre "untitled" which is UTTER SHITE, compared to
their earlier/other stuff

compared to calling THC bad ? I dont think so....

Granted i love my analord vinyls, chosen lords and untitled,
but they are a drastic change from earlier works.

And : yes you EXPECT WAY TO MUCH, your getting older
your not 13 anymore, and guess what..............artists
out what they (wait........good artists) want to. Not what a
person on xlt messageboard with almost 46,000 points
wants them to.

And yes i kinda knew you were joking ":)" but
i just had to address this also.

love,
tahd

I tried to read this thread but, considering you're both
grown men, you really do write like retarded children.

dunno if you're gettin what im saying. analords and untilted
are a step forward from previous releases. and that hapens
with almost every release by afx or ae. and that is
something good.

and yeah, they can put out whatever they like, but i can
also state my opinion no? :)

yeah. i wasn't thinking of any specific direction
expectations or something in those terms. merely
expectations of them making an intriguing album like im sure
they can.

making an intriguing album involves more risk. maybe they
needed the money

that depends on where they want to go. it can be very
intriguing and pop sounding you know. but since tch is
mentioned, they didn't do anything new there except put some
guitar sounds to their usual sound.

not every artist is suited to drastic change. i think tch is
good, but it's a bit inconsistent and empty sounding in
parts. i do love minimalism, but there's a clinic sparseness
to some of it. still some lovely stuff, though.
