i actually really enjoy my music. it's cheap quality, that's why i dont bother to play it to anybody but close friends, who are on a similar emotional level and therefore likely to appreciate it. but yeah. they enjoy
it, so do i. thats enuff.

I've always liked most creative endeavours I've done, thought they've always felt half finished, kind of hints of what I might do if I were more able, gifted.
Art, music and that, don't matter how "talented" you are, any expression's is something, innit, sometimes, that shows we have abilities and potential beyond our everyday understanding, innit, of ourselves, i think, and that's one reason why it's good to do, you know, stuff.

I am definitely too critical. I can't seem to finish anything because I think it is all shit. The problem is that I don't have any experience with making music and shouldn't expect it to be anything but shit until I work with it more but I just can't get over it.
Anyone else have this problem?

And I can't even start a track if I have heard Aphex, Ae, BoC, Prefuse, Squarepusher or anyone recently (like within a day), because it is just too depressing to listen to my crap after hearing something that great.

Well they're all quite individual artists, so it depends if you want to sound like them, or sound like yourself.

Oh I don't want to imitate them necessarily. Its just hard to listen to something awesome and try to compare with it. And I can't keep myself from thinking "Well, compared to blah blah, this is worthless."

i like making stuff more than hearing it i think, it is a bit hard to "hear" it though after making it and hearing millions of tiny bits of it over n over...but sometimes i'll make a tune then forget it for ages and stumble upon it after 3 months and it can be well surprising to my ears. i suppose a method is to make loads of stuff constantly so you forget it all faster and then you can hear it with a bit of perspective when you do listen back to it....or am i talking raaabish.???!!!...i'll go make some noises instead:§
