It varies. It churns, rotates and changes. Right now:

1) Tim Hecker
2) Jan Jelinek
3) *mumble*
4) Liza Minelli
5) Mississippi John Hurt

I DL'd this since I have no patience.

I like it.

After only one listen it comes across as a bit more
indie/pop friendly at moments

What a d00d

I have a question

it goes as follows

do you only listen to rock and electronic stuff?

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2006-09-09 12:26 [#01968135]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

it's noisy ambient. and nice, but i'd like something new
from him already.

do you have any of takagi masakatsus stuff besides eating
(1+2)? (I have those two ordered on vinyl)

I found some samples of some of his other stuff which was
way more ambient and maybe a bit too ambient for me, but I
just wanted to know what's good.. coeida was a good one, I
think, but.. other than that.. is that dvd worth anything?
opus pia or whatever?

i like opus pia a lot yeah..the remix thing too. i haven't
heard his music in a while so i'd have to check and see
before i recommend..also i would have to find all of it as i
have no idea where it is atm..somewhere around :)

This is a great record, but Radio Amor is still my favourite
Tim Hecker release. I do expect to spend a lot more quality
time with "Harmony In Ultraviolet".

Kranky have always been consistent with their releases, but
the last year as been bloody great: Chihei Hatakeyama, Keith
Fullerton Whitman, Loscil, Gregg Kowalsky....

Did anybody buy the Chris Herbert - Mezzotint? I think it
will be in my top 10 records of the year. It's far from
breaking new ground by any means, it just is what it is,
good.

yup I got it of soulseek today. sounds nice on first listen.
will get this one on cd for sure. but his best work still
remains "haunt me, haunt me do it again". this is an album
that comes in my top 5 of all time.

harmony in blue series are beautiful!
so is Spring heeled Jack Flies Tonight
radio spricom: wonderfull
the whitecaps of white noise are great to.

actaully all the tracks are wonderfull

it's all about chimeras. and whitecaps of white noise.
really, the whole album is -- dare i say it? --lush.

however, i do agree with thecurbcreeper that it can be
pretty indie/pop friendly at moments, though that's not
necessarily a bad thing. i just hope he doesn't continue
along that path.

p.s. mp3 quality makes tim hecker cry.

offline thecurbcreeper from United States on 2008-01-21 16:51 [#02166115]

my main problem with this cd is volume issues. i.e. track 5
is much louder than the rest, and other tracks have treble
heavy parts which are very loud
