Hello,

This is a remix I did for my good friends who have an
acoustic duo called "Acoustic Chatter." Its just 2 guitars,
and a female singer. Its very intimate and beautiful stuff.
Well, they asked me to do a remix of one of their tracks,
and to make it totally different, so I did.

Take a listen, and let me know what you think.

Enjoy!

Give Me A Reason (Kcinsu Remix)

"acoustic duo" makes me giggle a bit, it really does.

hey, didn't you hear the clickety-clackety tiny-IDM-y
introbeats?

or the thudding GaryNumanTrentReznoresque electrochords
during the chorus?

I thought that was just... stuff.. not.. music.

Must update values.

I must admit I liked it when it went "Wwhhhirrrp"

Then that fey voiced cow came back in and spoiled it.

ah, but Acoustic Chatter is not your typical
singer/songwriter stereotype. Andreas voice often has a
soft, delicate presence, but combined with the guitars
droning tones and rock driven chords, you will be surprised
by the mystery behind this duo.

I imagine Acoustic Chatter supporting that covers band in
the hotel in Lost in Translation.

So, how many years does it take at IDM College Music School
to get this good? Did Moby write the curriculum?

it was ok, it sounded a bit clinical, like you weren't
really into doing a remix
i'd double the voice in the chorus or put your superreverb
on it because now the music sounds too fat and the voice too
thin

right?

Thanks for checking it out, and for your thoughts. You make
a good point about the doubling and the thin/fat problem.
No, I had a lot of fun doing the remix. I wanted to make it
very commercial sounding, and by the books really..
something I havent done too much of before. I understand not
a lot of people like/respect that, but its ok.

anyways, thanks for listening.

i spose such idm beats will always be weird to the big
public
it's easy pointing out weak points because it all sounds so
impecable, like your sound is and i usually enjoy, even in
this track still, esp. in the chorusses

well,thank you.

yeah, I was trying to make it mainstream, but with a bit of
IDM influence... it was interesting trying to find a
balance... what I thought would work in the track, versus
what would sound too out there for the general public

I think its really good and I like it a lot, I think her
singing is nice and your production is very punchy. My only
criticisms are that it is a bit too repetetive to go on that
long, and that the extra parts that come in at the chorus
(first one particularly) seem to come and go very abruptly.

But I think its great, can I hear the original?

I thought it was good for what it was - kinda reminded me of
an anime theme song. Where's the montage of hot anime chicks
riding cybercycles through neo-tokyo?

for some reason it makes me think of dido.. didos music is
best described by the word "blank."

your stuff is normally good, but this time you kind of
missed it, at least for me.. it sounds boring and her voice
is annoyingly much like didos or even, as horsefactory
mentioned, that evanesence chick...

you could shorten that to "yeah, I was trying to sell out"

Obviously, as anyone with an IQ higher than yours [73+]
would know , I meant it in the broader term of not remaining
true to yourself in order to gain more commercial
acceptability.
