get intouch with Juan Atkins ?

I wanna do a remix of " techno music " , but get his
permission somehow -- I dont even know what label he's on
anymore.
I know he's got a myspace , but i think its just his PR
people that run it......

anyone any ideas ?

at time of posting , the board has disappeared , no posts ,
just a blue banner at the top that says sumthin about mom
wTfs goin' on

i suppose the label that released the track you are talking
about would be the people to contact.

why would you want his permission? they won't come and hunt

you down because you made a remix of a juan atkins track.
it doesn't really work that way.

it's not like you're going to release it or something.
unless you are going to release it ofcourse. but I doubt it.

I think he has PR bots -- they dont seem to respond to IM. I
think it was released from transmat , and then leased to Ten
records. Never had to do this before so i thought sum of ya
might know the best way to go about it.
Its an awesome track...still , 15 years later !!!

only if you sell a large enough amount - otherwise the legal
costs alone will be more than what you'd have to cough up.

the Criminal EPs on Planet Mu, for instance, were 2000 and
3000 copies respectively I believe, remixing Britney Spears
and Kylie Minogue (to name two). both sold out, absolutely
no consequences.
