I did some dubstep tracks under the alias "Coke Sheik".
Actually, I have no idea if they're actually dubstep or just
something else. Here they are, anyway. 2 tracks. Sofa Dub
EP.

1. Sofa Dub (Edit)

2. Trazpattern

Oohyes.

can't really hear it on my craptop speakers but Trazpattern
sounds pucka...better than most of this whiteboy dubstep
bandwagon bullshit....
reminds a bit of hawerchuks almighty "caned pees" on p-mu

Sofa dub has a very dubstepish beat but im lacking some
dubstepish deep bass or one of those rolling ones :D, the
beat sounds very nicely mixed though, the athmosphere of the
overall track is nice to, I would sort of wished for it to
have a classic 1min build up to an extremely heavy bass drop
but hey, can't have it all.

Trazpattern is even less dubstep hah but I like it, the drum
programming is very nice, the fx usage is nice and I love
the details, same with the bass here though, IMO it would
have worked better with something deeper, something with
more roll and punch but hell ive been listening to too much
typical dubstep lately guess that's why I require the same
stuff over and over again, gonna lay off it for awhile. Very
nicely mixed breaks here to, punchy enough but not annoying
at all, really good job.

roll/punch is gay! i tried to make it so that there wasn't
any hardcore lfo-wanking with the bass. that's part of why i
don't think it's "true" dubstep :D

sorry i just like drones

nice. kick drum is a bit too hard on sofa dub in my opinion,
gets a bit annoying. trazpattern is lovely

i quite like trazpattern. sofa dub didn't really do anything
for me, i found it a bit boring. but yeah trazpattern,
theres some nice stuff going on in there.

the postproduction on both tracks is nice though. good
clean crisp punchy mastering which i like. it's something i
have a lot of trouble doing myself.

i think the mastering.. hmm. yeah mixing too i guess. the
levels are good and the overall volume of the thing is loud
without being able to hear the compressor squishing down the
melodic bits.

actually i don't fully understand mastering myself. which
is probably why i have such a difficult time doing it.

Coke Sheik gets just better and better as it goes along, I
think it's one of my favourite Staz tracks of all time, and
that's saying something. Yes. It sounds like dub-step made
in 1983.

How is it not "a track"? I quote your initial post which
clearly states "Here they are, anyway. 2 tracks". You
better do some fast talking, young man!

I have to agree, kill them kill them dead, they're the
Dungeons & Dragons of popular music, a niche for personality
free virgins.

That Sofa Dub is potentially a blueprint for Dubstep Pop, or
something like it.

Honest opinions.

Sofa Dub (Edit)

Production wise tasty as always. On a personal note it
wasn't 'dark' enough for me and the bass felt a little
'thin' which was strange.

Tranzpattern

I loved from start to end. Nothing more to be said.

Coke Sheik truely is a great track that just gets better.

Tracks are pretty good but i haven't really heard them yet,
need to take them upstairs to the Big Speakers, check the
sub and all that. Trazpattern grabs me more, although if
you're going for dubstep it's definitely of the atki2-ish
"slow drum and bass" type. Done well, though. Second listen
now, liking it. That break is a bit overused but it
might just be these shitty speakers making it sound more
annoying than it really is. Yep, still liking it.
Goodstuffs.
