I set up some stuff in the corner of my folks conservatory
yesterday and worked my way through a bit of a hangover
messing with my two pieces of gear, then the cat came and
rolled around in the cables and I though it was so
unbelievably IDM I had to share it with you all, plus it
seems like a nice friday afternoon kind of topic, like those
news stories about ducks crossing the road and stuff

"warning duck crossing" in some highlighter markers, but i
can't find it. shame.

yeah its wierd how if you kick a cat they get all pissed off
but if you make poor quality techno music right near their
faces they seem to just relax and roll about

heres the track i made, its my first ever hardware only
tune, i think its alright, mad props to the xltronickers who
gave me advice on what to buy

It's great, on a computer you'd never come up withsuch lush
analogue sounds, it doesn't matter that the track is just
aimless noodling sub par wank, it's that it's on Hardware
and it's Analogue, it sounds really good. It sounds
good, it just happens to be shit.

take the word cat (or more accurately kat), convert each
letter to it's corresponding hebrew number, then multiply
each of those 3 numbers by pi, and finally convert those
numbers back into their corresponding letters - hey presto,
it's I D M.

intelligent, huh?

i dont know what to say to you, what do you want? what is
the matter, you are a full grown man, Im being perfectly
amiable and youre just trying to be offensive, so much so
that you had to come back and make two haughty comments
without me even having to provoke you. you know full well I
didnt make any of those claims that you implied and so I
really dont know what you want... i guess youd like me to
pretend Im not from a middle class family or say something
pretentious about analogue warmth and rise to your comments,
or maybe this little burst of attention will float your
boat, but in a way id rather if you were actually angry with
me about something because I find it a little awkward having
to watch you spend so much of your day being a pathetic cunt
on the internet. so if this is just some kind of joke then
please say now or otherwise leave the internet for a while,
or just stop being a twat

thanks,
dannnnnn underscore

I think d_b's comments were a tad harsh. But the basic point
that if you can't make a mind-blowing track in floops or
reason, you're never gonna make one. But by all means, if
you enjoy your gear, have fun with it.

Yeah, Burial did his album on Soundforge, so I don't think
you need all this shit really.

Nah, cats are the general electronic music animal. Every
modular synth has a cat sat at the top, seriously. There's
so many pictures on the internet as evidence.

Listen to Isan - Lucky Cat if you haven't already :D

I need a cat if I'm building my own modular.

Well, I guess our neighbours' cat isn't cared for so....

its pretty simple, cats are attracted by the heat from the
synths when they're on. Even the slightest heat that humans
cannot feel attract cats. Plus they just like to sit on your
gear because they want attention or food or something.
