I was trying to remember what your avatar was from :)

"Spectaculator" is the best emulator I've used, but you have
to pay for it after 30 days. I've not managed to find a
cracked copy and I resent paying for software that is
primarily used to allow people to play/pirate old games. It
also sort of defeats the whole argument that emulation is
harmless "not for profit" nostalgia... Might make software
houses a bit less tolerant of it, too.

Just keep these old spectrum games safely in your memory.
Playing them again via emulation or through the actual
hardware just makes you realise how poor and dated games
were back then. I know this first hand.

i regularly play retro games. often play mame, snes,
megadrive and atari games. i used to have a good spectrum
emulator that came bundled with a couple of games packs but
i can remember the name of it.

i got hold of midnight resistance a while ago but it was
just a one level demo that came with crash/your sinclair or
something.

now i want to find the full game. on a decent emulator.

I agree the nostalgia is great.

I also think some games still really are good today (manic
miner for example). I find the real acid test is to get a
mate who likes videogames, but never owned/played this
particular game to have a go. If they think it's shit, it
probably is, if they enjoy the game too (without the benefit
of your rose tinted spectacles) it's probably still quite
good.

I remember playing it on a mate's machine; very good
graphics for the spectrum and still managed to move
reasonably smoothly/quickly (relatively speaking).

ZX32, google it. Tried it this morning and it didn't work
properly though. Could be XP.
