Quake III

so i recently installed this game again.
I used to play it 3 years ago sometimes but I stopped
playing after I almost never got a kill when I played OSP or
Rocketarena. like not killing anyone after playing one hour
straight or even more. nothing has changed since then. I get
a kill now and then if I'm lucky. it's not that I'm bad at
it...those guys are just REALLY fucking good. I get dizzy
when I spectate some of those veteran players.
I'm pretty avarage in instagib but I guess everyone is.
so any q3 players who have a nice config file or tips?
I wanna PWN dammit!

I play RTCW Enemy Territory, that's a good game.

My favourite Quake is Quake II. Yes.

for each weapon. but im on dial up now, i wouldn't stand a
chance - LOL

I'm a 1on1 and 2on2 only player when it comes to quake. QW
and Q3:CPMA are my favorites.

This is the q3-config I used back in the days.
Last updated in 2003.

You saw the Quake II vid. thread didn't you?

I've layed QIII online at a friends. I am horrible, but it's
very fun!

quake III is kind of bleh. and it looked awful. I'd rather
go for Unreal Tournament (the original) any day.

I don't play games so I don't have an opinion. I toyed with
the idea of just responding like swears but I can't lower
myself to just replying lol.

UT was fun, I used to play that too. But I've always been
more of a quakefan anyway.

cool.

My old flatmate used to design the most amazing maps with
crazy traps and weird angles/corridors, hidden rooms,
mind-warping mirrored surfaces. He even designed an
elaborate "aliens" map with air-con ducts and loads of
little details from the movies and alien models to kill.

Them were the days!

so I spent some time making my own key binds. it went better
then normal. had some nice kills. but still no pwnage
though.

the damn lightning gun, I hate that weapon. can't do shit
with it. setting it to straight helps a bit. need more
practice!

lighting gun, its more about moving with the opponent rather
than trying to move the mouse around...
and sensitivity is a big factor

i was a q3 pro at one point in my life. i had a few site
where i was pinging like 5 -20. now thats ownij

i used to play with huge mousepads, i had one about 2 1/2
feet wide and had RL and RL sensitivity bound to one key,
anyways that was the end of ever missing a rail!

we should get an xlt server to run dedicated quake servers,
so we can battle our favorite xlt members any time

awesome!

remember those quake 3 linux tin boxes? the retail ones that
looked badass?

they were like $60 USD back in the day

like 3 years ago i came across a computer store selling like
30 of them

i bought like 5 at $1.99 each
LOL

they were the linux versions, but the key was all you needed
(to play online)

I just bought an LCD monitor after about 8 years on CRT. Its
a massive adjustment for games like Q3, but i'll definately
be up for a game if anyone wants to get spanked.

using 1.32 right? I'm using that to. so I don't understand
why that doesn't work

you've got the latest osp patch too right? 1.32c is the
latest version of Q3 btw, so make sure you update that as
well.
