I read a few articles on the subject of Lucid dreaming, after being guided by someone on this message board a while back. Thanks.
I have been practicing the techiniques.
I have had a few dreams recently that I can recall a lot of detail from.
Last night I dreamt that me and a friend were on Holiday and could not find a place to stop.
I wandered into a maze and there were many plastic horses trapped in the hedges of the maze. I tunred around and there were more plastic horses blocking the exist.
There were many other miniture scenarios that have occured over the last two weeks that featured in the dream.
I fell down a mountain and then at the bottom I got into a taxi that took me to a local town.
It was an eventfull dream, there were many different little \"scenes\" that all combined into a \"film\". All of the scenes / objects have occurred over recent months or have been discussed during conversations over the last few months.
Bye

i find that quite often i have lucid dreams. i had one a few days ago. in this one i was a spy, which i have many dreams about.
terrorists were making their way out of the country with a nuclear bomb. of course the authorities could not do anything, because the terrorists threatened to blow up the nuke if they tried to stop them. i made a sudden jump to the corner of a street were i used to live and i was speaking with a man who was secretly the terrorist leader and i had to shoot him so that the agency i was working for would believe that the terrorists did that. i had much trouble trying to fire the gun when the ukranian army began to march by. i decided that i would probably be shot by the ukranes if i go firing off a gun while they march by, so the terrorist leader said he'd figure it out from here and left with part of the army. that was when i realized we had been taken for fools and began to run over to an agent who had come out of a house, but ran away saying he didn't want to be part of this anymore. then a gunfight commenced between me, the terrorist and the ukranians. the bullets travelled awfully slow with a horrendous arc, so you could see them come at you and dodge them. i actually felt the sting of the bullets when they hit me. about then i was transported to a small east indian village in the middle of the night were i was being chased by a squadron of terrorists. as i snuck through shacks, i met a group of children who were ninjas and explained my situation to them and they agreed to help me out. i came around a corner the the ninjas had captured someone. as i walked closer, i noticed it was a kid from my school. i then proceded to beat him severely. my dream ended after that.

A bit of knowledge and theory:
when people work they're mind goes into "short term memory mode"
when they are relaxing,.. their longer term memory comes into place
when you are sleeping,........ You can remember practically everything about your life in vivid detail,.. I believe that this is what dreaming is,.. all collective thoughts that are buried within your brain,...
hey,.. maybe that's why it feels so nostalgic when you're dreaming (ie' everything is familiar {I just wanted to use that word [nostalgia]})

Hey Hevquip,
So you actually wanted to experience that dream sequence did you? Or did it pretty much run its course whatever. I mean could you actually control it, and be aware that you were actually dreaming? If so, then that's cool! But if not, then it wasn't a lucid dream.
You are in full control in lucid dreams, and you realise that you're dreaming. I haven't have a lucid dream since I was about 13, which is frustrating. I can usually recall at least 1 dream a night, though.
It's as though age jades you towards your dreams, you can no longer freely experience lucid dreams without dedicated concious effort, which fucks me off.
Lucid dreams rule.
Chris.

Yeah, WT, did you go to that site that showed you how to increase your chances of lucidity, test lucidity (ie walk through walls, look at your watch, mirror, look up, spin around etc).
I kept a log of my dreams for about 3 days, then didn't bother becasue they were so fucking stupid.
In my last dream I dreamt about making vast quantities of spaghetti bolognaise. Huge bowls were set in the ground and were heated by the earth's core. One bowl was for the bolognaise, another was for the spaghetti. Needless to say, it was far from lucid.
I fucking hate going to sleep and realise my mind is wandering, when I try to concentrate on one subject or location.
Chris.

http://www.xs4all.nl/~pasquale/TTM/ - a bit of a hippy site, but pretty cool.
http://members.aol.com/Aarenka/lucidintro.html - a good but less fun site. Far more informative, though.
www.lucidity.com - The Lucidity Institute, another good resource.
Apparently a good way to induce lucid dreaming is to get someone or something to sognal to you that you're dreaming when you enter REM sleep.
There are a few programs that tell you in a computer voice when you are dreaming after a time limit. This would probably scare the shit out of me (either that or I'd start dreaming of Stephen Hawking).
*Yawn*

ive only had one lucid dream, and it was interesting..though somewhat boring itll sound....i was going to school in the snow with my Mom and i knew (in real life prior) I shouldnt be going to school because i was sick and sleeping longer..So in the dream I told my Mom that I shouldn't be going to school and i was completely aware that this dream wasnt right, i woke up soon, cuz the whole time i felt subdued and couldnt breathe, woke up in with a pulsating heartbeat..i had tried for months to get it and i had achieved it so it was exihilirating, sure the dream doesnt sound anything special, but it felt really cool

Aren't lucid dreams the ones you control as well as physically experience?

I had a cool dream recently. Before I did, I went to a shop that sells import cd's/vinyls, it even had planet mu records! ON DISPLAY!!! Anyway, I saw black LP5 there and wished I got that instead of the white cover.
Then I had the dream at night. I bought black LP5 just to be a completist, and it was WAAAAAY different, it was very freeform, one track called Bine1 (funnily enough) was stunningly beautiful and had background noises like the ends/intros of the real LP5 songs (End of Acroyear2, beginning of Drane2 etc). The noises ocassionally morphed into percussion of some sort.
Actually, I'm not sure if it was Bine1, it was more like, /bine1(1 or something like that. But Bine1 sounds best.

HEY HEVQUIP!!!
A few days ago i was out with my mates on a massive trip up north. We we´re riding horses in the forests and at the end of the day we we´re all exhausted and all that, and in the night i dreamt that i was a spy. I really can´t recall anything but there was an evil terrorist leader, and a bunch of others. But it was really intensive.

I read "the big book of highs: 100 ways to alter consciousness without using drugs" (or some similar title). It's all about focusing concentration. When it comes to dreaming, rapid eye movement is the dreaming stage you want to wake up in, in order to remember your dream. Set your alarm for 3:00 AM or something, and right when you awake, keep remembering your dream, or you'll just forget it. Maybe write it down to help. Also, to stay in that phase right between sleep and awake, just go to sleep with your arm relaxed and sticking in the air. If you nod off, your arm will fall and wake you up. This book talked about how to put yourself under hypnosis, how to do it to someone else, and a lot of interesting stuff (and some fairly stupid stuff).

i like lucid dreams alot. the best part is when you think it is real and you're doing something in public or in general and you're freaking out because you know you shouldn't be doing it but you realize that it's a dream. i like action dream where i do lots of fighting, probably because of my martial arts experience. i'm very violent though, brutally beating the crap out of people, but that's probably because i cant get away with that in real life.

once i listened to saw II while going to sleep and remember waking up later at a really scary song, and while the volume wasnt that loud, it was terrifyingly lingering in the background and shocked the hell out of me in a sublime way

If I'm dreaming and I can control the outcome of what I'm dreaming about - then I must be having a lucid dream! Therefore I am not going to post another thread on this topic!
=)
