perhaps some denizens on the board would be interested
playing with some john carpenter tracks for a laugh?
Here's something i did from the chase across the
69th street bridge from the escape from new york soundtrack.

Nice work. I think it's a great idea, there's so many
fantastic, moody tracks. I'm keen on doing something with
the bit from Halloween III, ".. Don’t forget to watch the
"big give away" at nine" do-bah do-bah do-bah do-bah do-bah
do-bah do-bah do-bah do-bah do-bah do-bah do-bah .....

the "hally happy halloween, halloween halloween" bit? hard
to listen to that without your eyes automatically crossing.
i'm keen on your doing it too=D incidently it was sd_'s idea
really. he's already done the president escapes.

I was just thinking of looping that do-dah do-dah do-dah
organ bit, which I did actually prepare as ane intro for
when I erroneously thought I was going to be "doing" a
"session" on the xlt "radio". Get ready... get ready....
it's great with the visual of that blocky computer pumpkin
head flashing.

I think "Julie" from Assault on Precinct 13 may be one of
the most moving pieces of music ever recorded, but I'd be
too afraid to touch it. I really like... there's a couple of
tracks on the Escape from New York soundtrack, like "Descent
into NY" that have kind of very reverby thwak nosies, that
someone who knew what they were talking abut would be able
to say what it was, but yesh, and then a bit of a crying
synth, lovely stuff, stuff I will fiddle with.

here's a clip of sd's version. i'm sure he'd not mind me
posting it. i think it's my fav track off the
soundtrack. julie is nice yeah, i dunno you could do maybe
do something with drones and overtones on it, keeping the
feel of it. we talked about versioning the whole of the
escape from new york soundtrack and calling it escape from
"norn iron", where we languish=] i'm sure i seen a john
carpenter equipment list at one point online, i couldn't spy
it there mind. i'm sure boc must have some of the same kit,
i think you can hear carpenter in their early stuff
definately.

Oh I don't know, it was on then it was off, though I
wouldn't get excited anyway, it only be like listening to
0.000000000000001% of the tracks you're already familiar
with, haphazardly ordered with sound fx inbetween tracks and
all the mixing ability of two cassette decks where one of
the decks is a bit iffy.

I really like the jc president is gone rmx, absolutely
awesome, I will definitely give this thing a go, despite my
hamfisted approach and dearth of ability, it's a great idea.

didn't you do about 8 hours straight, though? I mean, it's
not like you could've missed it in the blink of an eye..

I think my new slot was dropped, as it were, when PhB got
wind of my intention to do a 2 week long session of An
Unabridged and Entirely Abitrary History of Electronic Music
(Directors Bitter Cut).
