Ok so im gradually moving over to my laptop and i wanna
start using it for my nano but i really don't wanna install
itunes on it.

What good alternatives to using itunes are there for putting
songs on my ipod? prefferably something tried and tested
that actually works :D

I dunno, I don't have an iPod (I use my super bulky but
tough-as-a-bastard mp3 discman). I guess just try plugging
it in and if it don't work I guess do the former.

just install the plug in and it should work fine. will be
listed under devices in the winamp media library. oh yeah,
as mcbpete says, use classic skins. infact use the original
skin. all the new ones are cluttered and really clumsy and
hog system resources.

i like iTunes.. its easy to use, i love the simple search
function, and it just feels good to use. even if it eats
more memory than most players.

Just use itunes. It's too much of a hassle to try to make
it work with other programs.

J River Media Center, Its basically everything iTunes should
be.
You have to buy it though, but there is a cracked copy
available on OiNK's.

I've been trying most apps for ipod recently in the market.
As far as I know, only iTunes can 'properly' manage songs
list on ipods. Other apps can only do back up or transfer
files.

it kind of sounds like youve never used itunes

is 5500 thing considered a massive library

cause all i have to do is type in anything to do with a song
and i can find it.

i mean i dunno maybe you keep all your mp3s as 0000001.mp3
with no id3 tags
