Oink Invites?

Anyone got any? It would be much appreciated :) I'm looking
for flac/lossless music and apparently they're pretty good
for that. The only invites I have for trade would be Torrent
Damage.

Cheers

Not there :(

I've changed it now to delete junk after a while rather than
delete it straight away. Any chance you could pump another
through please?

No but I can try to explain it here. (The first few steps
apply to uTorrent specifically, but any other Torrent client
might be very similar).

File -> Create New Torrent, under Select Source click Choose
Directory, and choose which directory you want to make a
torrent of.

(This step only needs to be done once)-> under Trackers
paste the url that is listed in the Upload section in the
Oink site. It should look something like :
http://tracker.oink.me.uk/tracker/xxxxxxxxxxxx/announce

Next click Create and Save as, and it'll ask you where you
want to put the .torrent file (I keep mine all together in
uTorrent program directory).

Now with that .torrent file you go onto the Oink upload page
and you can click the browse button and then locate that
.torrent you just made. Now fill in the rest of the details
on the page and click the "Do It" at the bottom. This will
now send you a new torrent file and uTorrent (or whatever
client you use) should pop up.

Now choose the folder where all the mp3s were stored (note
that you may have to choose the folder one level up (eg. If
I made a torrent from the directory my_cds\autechre - gantz
graf, you choose the directory my_cds) as in uTorrent it
automatically appends the directory name that you first made
the .torrent from). It should then hopefully count up to
100% and you'll be seeding it.

That looks more complicated than it actually is. I've just
gone into a lot more detail to clear it up a bit. After
doing it once it should become second nature....

the first three steps (paragraphs) you do using the torrent
client, not on the oink site by the way.

Thanks so much mcbpete.

Thats a really cool site, so much flac stuff i nearly
creamed my pants.

Hopefully in the future as HDs and memory get bigger and
bigger mp3s will become a thing of the past and everyone
will use files of equal quality to the original CD. I think
Bleep already offers some FLACs and the possible move by
Yahoo to DRM free music may mean that bought online music
may one day be as good as the free illegal stuff.

hey mr big, it seems that most of the torrents i see have
seeds but no leechers. I know having such a big ratio and
uploaded amount is perhaps worthy of bragging rights but in
a site where ratio is important to staying a member dont you
think your excessively big ratio is making it harder for
others? On every other site I use I try to keep it close to
one so others have a chance to upload (esp those with crappy
upload speeds).

yea i think so,
the new obliged 0,5 ratio lessens the presure on others
however, also i think the problem is still with the others:
they don't have their ports open or did something else
wrong: read all the tutorials.
this is is enforced and propageded by oink, the more seeders
and the faster the better the system works for downloaders.

i don't even seed 24/7

I was just wondering if anyone has ever made a calculation,
using moores law etc as to when we will have a hard disk (or
even flash disk) that can store every album ever made in
FLAC/WAV form.
