c64 SID

hi again.

I think I've missed the old commodore 64 sound. I was a kid
when I owned one, and I remember learning how to program the
c64 synthesizer (the famous SID). I never produced anything
worthwhile, but I'm ready to try again. Some amazing tracks
were composed back then (i.e. in games that I remember). And
dated as it might be, I like the purity of that sound.

Anyhow, does anyone know of any SID emulators, or samples of
the old c64?

...and my opinion.
And like.... a shit load of c64 nerds. :D
Jeroen Tel would probably be the 2nd best then?

Keep a look out for the album "Input 64"

similar as there is a sid voice too. didn't know the
sidstation was that expensive, it's a shame!

else.

I've got Input64 on vinyl. The fella in the shop gave me a
really funny look when I bought it. Like "Why are you buying
this gimmicky crap?"

the preponderance of auditory stimuli leads me to a feeling
of ennui past quarter annum. indeed my prosencephalon is
much more satiated by esoteric olfactory offerings, like
swarvega and bisto hanging through the fetor of morning cut
grass.

man, commando was awesome. and the lushest soundtrack too.
also liked ik+ and rambo soundtrack along with lots of demo
music that i don't remember the name of. i'm 26 as well and
was heavily into c64 when i was a lame little kid.

i also remember i was amazed by some sort of demo thing,
which had vocals (omg vocals!!). "hey sing a long song for
the holiday" and so on. don't know what the title is.

Because they are built in such small runs, and everybody
wants one. Its a market that was created from demand. They
retailed at $450 when they first came out, but could only do
them in runs of 100 due to sid chip supply. Then they
noticed that people were paying 1000 for second hand ones...
