hi.

I've been registered for some time now, mainly because a
friend told me it's an awesome place. The thing is, I never
had the time to actually browse forums, so I lurk. :-/

I wanted to ask all you gifted people, is it ok if I post a
link to a piece of music and ask you for some evaluation?
I'm full of ideas, and will heed any words of caution/advice
you care to give me, because it's really a torture that I'm
not talented/learned enough to put those ideas into notes.

I've seen people post great pieces, but do you take kindly
to newbies?...

kisses
christina

juice and probably masturbate u_u

should I add "spam" to the title of the topic?

anyway, here goes. you'll probably laugh at it, but please
don't go easy on me. if you have any suggestions to make it
listenable, please do share.

fruity loops + QWERTY keyboard
(to be fair, I do play the piano. but I have no idea about
mixing and mastering)

so far as I know, my mp3 was just exported from FL5 and is
free of spyware... I don't know why the hosting service
cautions you.

haha, classic flstudio drum samples... it's interesting
though, i like the melody, and you've got some cool panning
and nice layering of instruments. i guess you need to flesh
it out more and start working on getting more of your own
sound in there. as it stands it's a bit sparse and of no
real direction, so it's not that "satisfying". well, not to
me, anyway.

i like where you're heading, though.

it's to make complete idiots download retarded software that
mucks up your computer and allows them to continue funding
their absolutely rancid filehosting site.

i think i'm gonna make it a principle to not download from
these "free file upload" sites pretty soon. too many ads and
way too much queuing and mucking about. i don't want to type
in a fucking code everytime i download a file.

so to everyone: get a proper server. just to appease me.
thx.

dann and staz> thanks a lot. I'll try to make my own sounds.
Actually it's what I dread... I've got musical ideas, I'm
not a technician.. I find some charm in it, but not enough
that I have to learn about the whole physics of sound... But
I guess it reads badly if I don't give it a try...

I'm surprised you like it, otherwise. I expected far worse.

also, sorry about the free service... I'm having problems
with my own host.

kisses and thanks for the patience
christina

Hi, didn't you email me a longish time ago? I think you
wrote that your best melodies use all the notes (chromatic I
think) instead of any scale, like major. This is a nice
track- pretty much in the Plaid genre, not quite as well
mastered and stuff like you said, but still quite good.

w M w > yes, I'm the one. I don't remember the part about
cromatic scales though... Must have impressed you more than
the fact I'm a girl :-P

Anyhow. Plaid genre. All rIght!! Now I have something to
listen to. They better be good, w M w!! Thx for the heads
up!

you dont have to make your own sounds, just collect some
good ones and tamper with then

You might try not for threes or rest proof clockwork by
plaid if you havn't heard those. I think the 2nd track on
each is a good test sample; you can probably hear at
amazon.com or download in a filesharing network (slsk.org)

Dann_> tx for the suggestion. I was thinking I could use
some C64-sounding drums, but I haven't found any yet. Guess
I have to re-learn programming the SID. hope you're better
today!
w M w> cool! tx a lot.

about this thread?
I try not to bitch about the fact that my gender is
commented upon. after all it's a male-frequented and
dominated group of buddies and you deserve to keep your
style.

I wouldn't take kindly to guys coming in my female-only
groups (as they do, when I'm with the greek lesbian group,
irl) and bitching about how we don't understand them and we
don't change our outlook in order to include them. wtf?
