Higher Intelligence Agency - Freefloater

Anyone else have this? Listening to AI2 yesterday made me
pull out a couple of other "older" ambient techno albums
from the pioneering days of electronica (Ehh, 1995). Higher
Intelligence Agency's Freefloater might just be one of the
best album of it's kind. With it's pure synthetic - and
awesome - sound, slow beats, deep bass and lush arrangements
it's a journey I'm happy to have rediscovered. I think I'll
keep this in my car for the next couple of days. Really nice
music for cruising...

Their debut album - Colorform - was also nice but they
really peaked with Freefloater. Most tracks mix well with
Autechre's "Clipper" from Tri Repetea.

I love Biospheres older stuff like Patashnik and
Microgravity.

He did atleast 1 or 2 things with HIA in the later years.

True! They did two albums together; "Polar Sequences" and
"Bermingham Sequences".

Patashnik is classic! Both Biosphere and HIA have that
strong emphasis on 'sound' that makes their music big and
awesome.

I love the old stuff from many ambient and electro
artists... old ORB, Orbital, Aphex, autechre, squarepusher,
uziq, biosphere (although the new stuff is awesome),
lustmord etc etc etc

Yes I know, but speak for yorself, mate! According to your
profile you're only one year younger than me! Besides, I
think the average user has aged a bit since the start of
xltronic... How old is this site now anyway? I've been a
member for at least 7 years..... (!)

I only have 'Ketamine Entity' from this compilation with HIA. This compilation is
excellent, don't believe the critic. It is true that
'Soufie' is awesome. Very beautiful track by Banco de gaia.
He never released anything even close to as good as 'Soufie'
again, so don't bother downloading everything by him.

Nice! I guess that would be Colourform and Freefloater. How
does your turntable and audiosystem perform on the last
track on Colourform - ketamine entity - with that incredibly
punching deep bass?

Is 'ADF' Asian Dub Foundation? Actually it must be if his
pseudonym is chandrasonic. That's a shit name if I may be
soo bold.
