I've been meaning to buy some Pete Namlook or assorted Fax
Records stuff for ages now, but when I set about to the task
the catalogue is so big and daunting I don't know where to
start and give up.

most of namlook works and side projects sounds to me like
this kind of compilations:

not good, not bad

For my money, you can't go wrong with any of the first
few...but Zenith's probably my fave at the mo...however a
problem you'll run into is how to get the earlier ones
without breaking the bank(!) Of the more recent ones, I'd
say Eisblumen for nice techno, Re:sonate for ambient dub,
Fires Of Ork 2 for bliss...

i have one of the dark side of the moon cds. i am glad i
have it, they pull some silly moves sometimes tho. i throw
it in once every so often, maybe now is the time.. or even
the time to track down the others that i haven't heard.

he's put out an incredible amount of work.
I once sent him a message online and he was kind enough to
respond back...
unlike most other musicians.

i heard he is to release a postumous release of minidisks
containing the sound of everything he did in his whole life
in real time, and respect for managing to milk it like that
tho i wouldnt choose to

if you are fanatical about particular people's styles of
music what is it saying on the deepest level?

Sadly, now he really is...and the world is one genius
light...but what a legacy...circa 170 albums left behind,
either solo or collabs...RIP Herr Kuhlmann, legend that you
will always be...

I have his HIA SHADO albums (are they inspired by the Gerry
Anderson series UFO?). Didn't realise he was that prolific,
will have to check out some more, shame I only found this
out from hearing of his death
