Being an artist nowadays.

Whatever it is you're doing, music, pictures, films,
etc...

You can't just "express yourself". You have to be clever and
original, find something that hasn't been done to death and
work with it. Take the less worn path to wherever.
Oh, you're expressing your "feelings"? So fucking what?
everybody has feelings, get over yourself.

i prefer expressing yourself to finding something new
myself.

Its not so much your expressing, so much as how. The medium
is the message etc etc etc.

Being a snotty naysayer these days...

Whatever it is you're knocking, music, pictures, films,
etc...

You can't just "knock it". You have to be clever and
original, find something that hasn't been done to death and
work with it. Take the less worn path to wherever.
Oh, you're expressing your "resentment"? So fucking what?
everybody feels resentful, get over yourself.

the worst part is having to prove yourself 'worthy' as an
artist

once you are proven and you're the big shit, well then
anyone will listen to anything you put out. theyll buy it.
cause you're a big name.

it's hardest to do that nowadays, especially with this weird
genre of electronic music we're a part of . you have to
really be a diamond in the rough to get any attention.

I decided to quit art, and spend the rest of my life fucking
as many girls as possible. So far my tally is 0 and I made
this decision 3 years ago.

Accept disgrace willingly.
Accept misfortune as the human condition.

What do you mean by "Accept disgrace willingly"?
Accept being unimportant.
Do not be concerned with loss or gain.
This is called "accepting disgrace willingly."

What do you mean by "Accept misfortune as the human
condition" ?
Misfortune comes from having a body.
Without a body, how could there be misfortune ?

Surrender yourself humbly; then you can be trusted to care
for all things.
Love the world as your own self; then you can truly care for
all things.

The Eyes of Stanley Pain does both (clever original/ express
feelings). You can play this album in your car and it will
obliterate the entire neighborhood. Gang members riding next
to you about to do a drive by will run out of their car
screaming like little girls. When spybey speaks you say "YES
SIR" or you keep your damn mouth shut. You are HIS bitch;
it's as simple as that.

unoriginal to other people then thats their problem.
otherwise youre just working to other peoples desires which
is business not art

ofcourse swears isn't right!

if there's one direct route to making pretentious crap it's
by trying to be "original" (whatever the hell that is). what
a completely misguided joke of an idea.

you try to make something that you yourself think is worth
the trouble. sure, you try to do something that is at least
new for you, or is part of your own individual evolution,
but that's about it.

do you think any great artist really thought about being
"original"? you do what you want to do and you try to do it
the best you can. and then maybe later on we can all start
crying "oh wow, that was incredible!!".

Original at least in a certain context.
I have a feeling that if somebody else had brought this up,
you would have made a reply along the lines of:
"Hmmm, interesting point you have there..."
