electronica is too broad a term, drill & bass is too narrow, IDM means different things to different people. I usually just call aphex twin-esque music "techno". Though it bugs me to hear people refer to Paul Oakenfold as techno. Blechh.

You can't use any subjective terms like "excellent" if you want to define something with a brief summary compacted as economically as possible into it's name. If excellent is different for different people, than nothing is nailed down at all.
